Yes unless you run Gun Tight, which was the whole point of this thread to begin with. That scheme is literally designed to take advantage of the poor coding in the game. If you run Gun Tight and win, then you’re not better than the average player at the game. They run an offense based around exploiting poor coding. That’s the equivalent of everyone who took advantage of the egg reroll glitch saying they are smarter than everyone who didn’t take advantage of it. It doesn’t make you smarter because you opened the packs, it just means you were on at an opportune time. Just because you win when running Gun Tight, that doesn’t make you better than anyone. That just means you choose to exploit poor game mechanics. Nothing wrong with that, but that doesn’t make you good.

If the game didn’t have gun tight they’d be worse, that’s not the same thing

I mean the people who use gun tight and win a lot are currently Good at Madden 23. If you removed gun tight they would be Bad at Madden 23. There’s a few other things that make players play better or worse but it’s still in madden 23 so if they’re good at it theyre good at madden 23. I’m willing to say they’re not good at madden or football but that’s not the competition you’re having in a game of MUT

Well the only people that really agree with that are people that run that. Everyone else will disagree. It’s like asking if you trust the government. Only people involved with it will say yes. Vast majority of everyone else will disagree. Same thing here. At the end of the day, these are all just opinions. But I know you can see my logic, you’re just choosing to believe something else. The logic that Gun Tight is ONLY used for the sole purpose of exploiting poor game coding. That’s why only that formation is so popular. Not because you make reads, or play better, or are better at the sticks than your opponent. Anyway, have a good weekend!

some plays are better than others.
I've been running with a buddy in squads for years, we have a set 3-4 plays to add in with some runs (stretches, or RPOS) which requires coordination with whoever we face online.
that's on the fault of EA.....some of these plays got water down to point where they are unusable and not only that but they removed too many plays away from actual NFL playbooks.
I wish EA would test EVERY SINGLE PLAY in order for you to get a first down or score a touchdown with instead of stupid, unimaginative concepts and this goes to the caption of
"WhEre aRe ThE UpdaTEd PLaYbooKs"
(example: Seahawks have had the same offensive coordinator and about 60% of their plays last year are not even in THIS YEAR's playbook)

I say it's not the fault of the player, or the opponent, it's the company for poorly giving variety to the game

This is why a real sim mode would be great to include in Madden 24. I think it would cut a lot of the “cheese” and make the game more enjoyable for die hard football fans. I’ve said it before but my idea was to make a game mode with:
1. No abilities
2. Zoom view only. In-helmet view would be even better.
3. No play art/route previews
4. No visualized Playbook. You’ll need to learn the names of plays and memorize the routes like irl.
5. Only user offensive players with ball in hand.
6. You get to choose 1 defensive player to user all game or maybe you can switch at halftime. Defensive view mandatory.
8. Would be nice to have a companion app that allows you to design plays and build a custom playbook. Let us build a real call sheet that we can prepare pre game.
9. 5-10 Minutes of pre game preparation and analysis based on your opponents play calls/style/personnel. Basically a very very quick film study.
