Switching from Zone to Man…

Thinking of switching my scheme from zone to man. The only defense that gives me fits is man blitz. Although I’m not wanting to blitz in a man scheme. Anybody run a man scheme in defense that doesn’t revolve around blitzing everyone? How effective is it for you? I could just try it out myself, but that would require the sale of a couple DBs to fit more of a man scheme so wanted insight before I plunge.

Edit: I just don’t see the advantage of running man coverage UNLESS you blitz everyone (which I’m unwilling to do). Man against Gun Tight puts you in a bad position with all the man beating routes. I was running OLB Blitz out of 3-3 Cub and the pressure does get there fast, BUT not faster than crossing routes break.

I run 2 man under out of dollar and it does well for the most part with a few adjustments.  The biggest key is to get pressure with your defensive front so I would recommend using a couple of the X-Factor rushers so they can get pressure.  I do have some trouble stopping Flash and Gus when their X-Factor is lit up so I switch to big nickel.

like the other poster said, you want those factors. I have maniac and furious George bringing the pressure. 
 

For corners, I have Deion, Showcase, and NTL. NTL is in the slot. Showcase has activated universal coverage so he’s good to go with that and free PA. I give Deion PA, Acro, and outside shade. NTL has OSA, Outside Shade, and PA. 
 

going to test more with NTL because outside shade and OSA seems overkill. Buuuut he BAGS PA shot seems vs route tech. unfortunately, bench still works him. So I need to see if it’s worth the extra points to consistently bag shot seams.

OSA is 3 AP so where is your other AP if you don’t mind me asking on defense?

Maniac, Furious George, Deep knock out on my FS, mid zone knock out on MLB. Big reliance on free abilities after that.
 

have to run a couple seasons with this and see how it goes, then redistribute if needed.

You Think OSA is worth it in your limited play time with it?

The meta is changing to man. 

You need to find 5 or 6 rushers that don't need much AP. Zero is best. 

The majority of your AP is going to go to your safeties and outside corners.

Yeah, since I made the switch to man I get way more INTs. The other poster is right, Id love it on my safeties but that’s something I’ll figure out a later point. I think that is more so if you want to blitz. I run a lot of 2 man so the safeties are in zone and let my xfactor pass rushers create the pressure

Past seasons I only ran zone. This year I tried man and absolutely love it. I blitz out of man often, edge rushers get mad pressure quick. I user my LB

you run OSA and shades over KOs and acro? I run man with DRKO and Acro on each of my 4 corners  and I'm worried if i switch to shades then I'd get beat over the top or get agged by people switching on. does it work better for you?

I'm going through this right now, even with Maniac and George (49ers TT, but tinkering with the new Mission MUT stuff) i'm barely getting pressure, unless I send all out blitzes.  Rarely i'll get pressure if I bring 5, but not often enough to make a difference.  No matter which adjustments I make, in man coverage i'm constantly getting torched with the same few sideline throws.

I'd rather not spam Spinner out of Dollar or Sam Blitz from 4-3, but i'm going to have to do something drastic here, it seems.  I thought for sure with Deion, NTL and Cromartie, plus a couple Safeties (Byard & Palo-Mao) over top, i'd be competitive, but i've found the opposite in the limited testing i've done in the past ~24 hours.  Probably going to put Deion back to the outside and see about sliding Cromartie back to the top at SS with that 1AP Inside Shade, but not really sure who to even run at this point, let alone what abilities and adjustments to make when constantly battling sideline throws.

At the moment i have the following options for DBs, but not enough spots on the roster, nor AP -- trying to theory craft here, what are the pros running these days?  I guess that's where i should start, eh.  Lately i've been prioritizing height, was trying to find DBs who are at or near 6'4" everywhere; outside, over top safeties, as well as SUBLB.  I just sold Kam this morning, wasn't really a ~1.5M upgrade over Ryan Neal, meh.

Well with Gun Tight and Bunch, Outside Shade wouldn’t even work because the receivers are inside the numbers. you’d wanna use Inside Shade. What sideline throws are beating you?

Thanks, I initially started NTL with both (Inside & Outside Shade, for 3AP... mostly because it didn't cost 10k Training).  Prior to getting NTL yesterday i had Cromartie and his 1AP Inside Shade as my primary Slot corner, i really thought it was about time to switch back to Man.  I've been trying a little of everything, Dollar, Nickel & Dime as well as 4-3 Even 6-1 for a brief period.  There's a handful of what appear to be fairly standard (often playaction) throws to the sidelines that seem to get REALLY open (meaning 2-3 full steps ahead of my 99 Speed DBs) out of various sets/playbooks.  I should start keeping a list and try to track what i'm running up against most.  Going on 4+ months of MUT now and it's still a bit overwhelming trying to make adjustments on the fly, let alone understand and process what I'm up against.  Need to invest more time in practice mode getting the muscle memory down, but even understanding what i need to do (as far as adjustments) on a conceptual level has remained a bit of an uphill climb.  Appreciate any insight or experience you may be able to bless me with.

I'm certain that i remain a large part of the problem, lack of experience as a first-time MUT player, not effectively adjusting to my opponent, etc.  Typically folks start with whatever couple/few standard plays and make Hot Route adjustments on the fly.  I'd been using almost exclusively Deep Route/Zone KO abilities (as well as PA + Acrobat, where ever feasible), however i may need to adjust to Mid Route/Zone KOs, or free up some AP to try fit both.  I guess having so many decent high-end DBs is a good problem to have, although unsure if it matters all that much.
