Tips for man coverage?

Hey everyone, I have been running man almost all year and when needed I implement a little bit of zone. I have preferred man because the blitzes I can get in man are just insane.

I am currently using 99 Deion, 99 NTL, and 98 Tariq woolen. I run inside shade on NTL and Deion and then 1 step ahead on Tariq. I also run deep/medium route Ko’s and PA on each as well.

I am coming here to ask if there’s any tips with man. I have been getting killed on corner routes even with inside shade. my adjustments in order to stop corner routes is I press my corners and shade outside.

any tips are appreciated!

If its that junk play action out of tight gun where they motion strong side wr to weak slot, just gonna have to user the fs and or deep zone ko on fs and find a way to put him in position

I like to run Cover 2 Man with Deep Zone KO on both of my deep safeties. This will guarantee that nothing is open on the outside, and your user can take routes cutting inside. Depending on what formation the opponent is running, you can still definitely mix this with blitzes, but you'll just have to user one corner and pray for a KO on the other. If you mix cover 2 man and heavy blitzes with a little bit of zone as well, you should be okay. Hope this helps :-)

After a month+ of running almost exclusively Zone, I'm finally back to Man. Basically doing the above, as well. Lots of Cover 2 Man with Deep Out Zone KOs on both my Safeties. From both Dollar and Nickel.

I still get mossed by Calvin Johnson and that Agg catch X-factor, unfortunately. Went 8-0 last night in H2H season play, only a single opponent scored a TD in the games prior to my Superbowl... but Calvin was beating double coverage over the top on deep corners, nothing I could do to stop that. Ultimately lost a crushing defeat and went to bed sad despite a good run.

I'm getting better with adjustments, typically I "guess pass" and then shade accordingly, although I use Press sparingly. Mostly save it for near the end zone. If I do press in the middle of the field, I regularly will Shade Overtop to try and help against getting burned deep. Constantly tinkering with DBs, but lately I have; Deion, NTL, Patrick Peterson & Cromartie. Plus Justin Simmons at FS and Palo-Mao SS, with Patrick Willis & Jeremy Chinn as SUBLB. Deep Route KOs everywhere possible.

I'm about to remove one (or both) Unstoppable Force X-factor so I can use the AP in secondary.
