When do you guys think the trade block is going to get back working, along with what changed they are making for the tradeblock

Hard to say with a lack of transparency or info on the situation from EA.

This is the only info per MaddenNFLDirect Twitter on March 30: “Hey MUT Community, We want to let you know that the Trade Block for all platforms has been temporarily gated as we investigate an issue. We'll thread any updates as soon as we get them.”

No update since

i doubt it’s coming back, which sucks, but i would prefer if they at least communicate with us about it

It's probably not coming back this year. With how problematic it is ea might just get rid of the trade block entirely. 

Only way I see it brought back is if they made it so you have to connect to another user like in a h2h game.
