Sadly this is just another in a series of horrendous decisions which almost exclusively focus on and promote these bullshit pay to win game mechanics.  It's insulting to our intelligence that this is somehow about keeping the game "fair" -- nothing about my Madden experience has been fair.

I'm embarrassed to admit that i've become part of the problem, i was late to the game and i pumped some USD into my MUT team.  Definitely not my proudest moment.  However, due to the terrible behavior by EA i decided to not purchase Jedi: Survivor which turned out to be the correct call, as that was also released an unfinished, buggy ass mess.  I really wanna play that game, but I have zero other recourse.  I'm certainly not spending $75 until the game is in a playable state.

However i have signed up for Madden `24 beta and will be eager to see if they can save their jobs by improving this fatball simulator(?) as we head into next year.  Hopefully this isn't my first and last MUT team.

FWIW, I don't post much, but I will say that as part of a family of players, this decision alienates me.

We like to trade cards between accounts here. I still purchase the stupid $149.99 packs (which are $134.99 as an EA member) sometimes, but EA's behavior here has lost me as a customer.

I am finding it harder and harder to support this game from what I’ve seen this year 

I might consider sitting out next year the fact that my friends could let me try out cards and if I liked it, I would then buy it because i can’t always be on I have work so when a new card comes out sometimes I would ask my friends that play this game if they let me get a game or two with it and see if it’s worth the coins or not .

Fair play is important.  Especially with some of the practices people do.  It is hard for the normal player who has a life and career to keep up.  Thanks Madden crew.
