They are definitely worth it for the first few days that the new ones are released each week. After that, it is all about how cheaply you can purchase the set parts. Set building for resale and coin-making isn't for the impatient. You have to spend the time to buy the parts at the right price, and time your sale of the Boss piece correctly.
