yes i think
is the game dead
Yep. The promos now are trash.
Content wise yes, it is dying, but there are still many people that will be playing it no matter how good or bad it is.
I don't play madden every year, but I bought '21 in May that year and it died IMO a little bit before 22 released. This is the first madden I played during the NFL season and it died so fast.
It’s definitely dying a slow death. The only people left playing are those that 1) just love playing Madden/football year round and 2) those with plenty of coins ready to buy GT’s and RP’s. If GT’s had already released, the player base would likely have already dwindled further.
Just a perfect storm of coin disparity, an inflated market on high-end cards, poor pack odds and nothing to play/grind for in terms of rewards. Hard for the average Joe to engage with new content when there are pack limits and the pack prices are super expensive. TVP’s are paying out at 1/per on a good day, so if you’re not getting training at 1/per or below, you’re losing, unless you get lucky with a LTD. Just not much left to do at this point - the H2H guys have nothing to play for (weekend league,) and the menu guys/gamblers don’t have packs or rolls that aren’t always a guaranteed loss, so yes, it’s almost dead.
I wonder how much the licensor knows about the ongoing clusterf**k.
People have been saying this for a month now but I believe it actually started dying after the AP change (which I was a fan of by the way). The Pool of players is so small now, everyone that’s still playing is sweaty as hell, EVERYONE using Flash or Gus even on theme teams. I feel like with the 12 AP, people were more willing to experiment with players. Now, they just use what they know will work. I played the same guy in Champs 3 out of 4 games I played. Content is dry and the players that actually do come out are big names that try and bring people back in.
It is dying, but it's not dead yet! It's like Darth Maul from Star Wars. He just won't die. Not saying we want Madden to die, but it will, very very soon.
Dead as the respect we all have for each other in this and most realms
I personally have 0 issues finding opponents. And I'm needing that odell Beckham GT for the rams TT. So I'm still on everyday but once GTS are released, I'll play until I can't find an opponent or 24' comes out
Yes, that's straight from the devs
The AP reduction was a final attempt to stabilize the game but the returns have not been promising.
Worst yet, multiple devs have said this AP reduction and limited abilities isn't helping next year's game since it's already made. What this is doing is trying to fix the obscene shift in haves and have-nots across the H2H landscape due to people taking advantage of the various problems along the way this season that made so many millionaires.
I used to post here. that's how dead it got. there's even more sweats than chivalry 2 then I ever did queuing up the game. I'm now becoming a movie watcher at this rate.

I feel the same way. The content is clearly dwindling, and the ending of GMM signaled the end of weekly new content, other than UL's. As they said on that stream, there will still be some special streams for GT's and Rookie Premiers I would assume.
As for finding opponents, I have had no issues with matching up with someone in either H2H or House Rules. I will continue to play as long as there are people willing to play. I still grind the Competitive and whatever Field Pass they have out there. My goal is to get a Gold 99 at every position, so I will keep playing until EA releases the spots I am missing, or I run out of coins, whichever comes first!
