No, I don't see much point in them if I'm honest. EA could just give the card the ratings/discounts the power up would give it.

If you want them for investing, there's other things EA could do to give old cards value like sets that require specific items or perhaps a revamped salary cap or house rules mode.

Only if they bring back PU passes as well. Those were amazing and I remember my first 99 card in madden 20 was Randall Cunningham on my 92 OVR team cos I just figured out I could use my passes for that

Yes, made it easier to make coins by investing, but I wasn’t that smart last year

a very low ovr version of a player that can be upgraded with cards of that player that come out throughout the year. for example... lets say lamar jackson's powerup is a 75 overall. if u plug in his core elite (82 overall for example) the card will now be an 82 with an ability slot. if you plug in every lamar jackson card for the year. you get a card rated the same as his highest ovr card with some really good abilities. basically -- power-up (75) ---> 82 ovr ---> 88 ovr ---> 92 ovr ----> 95 ovr ----> 99 ovr. hope that didn't confuse you further

It was very nice so you almost always had the most updated player even if you couldnt get the top end.

Plus unlike this year when a cards prior card got upgraded, instead of just eating coins for training, they would go back up in price and you could profit by just having good cards around when the next upgrade comes out. 

Plus with a handful of passes we got through leveling, you could save coins and move them around to other players.
