Having trouble deciding what CBs to get and what abilities to run. I'm open to either a man or zone scheme, but am going back and forth between the following ability combos:
Flat Zone KO and Deep Out Zone KO/Mid Zone KO
Pick Artist and Acrobat
Deep Route KO/Medium Route KO and Inside Shade/One Step Ahead
I like running man a lot especially with the cardinals TT corners being really good at man. I have pat p boldin and Aeneas as corners. Boldin and Pat pete has OSA and drko, Aeneas in the slot has inside shade and drko. I also have Deion sanders with PA, Acr, and DRKO at corner 4
If you're running man I think inside shade/osa and a KO is the best way to go.
Of the options you provided I like the ko combo more than pick artist and acrobat combo for zone. Pick artist/acrobat combo seems feast or famine to me. Sure it will help you get interceptions, but you're also going to give up big plays with missed interceptions and contested catches. For the zone KO combo, you're going to get a lot of knock outs and wil help prevent big plays but you're not going to get as many interceptions.
That's why when I ran zone, I liked having pick artist and a ko on my CBs. It's the best of both worlds where your CBs ko should get you knockouts and pick artis helps you get those turnovers. I know it's not one of the choices you provided. But it's what I would do if I were playing zone coverage.
As to what scheme you should run I think that needs to be your decision. Unless you're trying to become a Madden Pro, the average player can be successful with either man or zone.

I run man now, but I don't think I played significantly better with one over the other. When I played zone all my DBs had pick artist. I mainly used a cover 3 shell from nickel over. So I had deep out zone KO on outside CBs. I'd put mid zone ko on the slot corner and one of my safeties. Since deep in zone ko isn't very good that leaves one of our safeties without a ko in stock cover 3.

I second this.
With 6 AP, I think you pretty much have to sell out on whether you want a Man or Zone focused team. I try to have a decent mix with my backups for those key moments in a game when I have an idea of how my opponent is playing. Then I try to sub the best players in where I see fit.
