Why no love for the SB Mahomes QB card?

If they didnt cut AP in half he would be fine but now its a big deal.

This is why Mahommes is not in the same tier as ARod/Stafford/Zach Wilson. Can run GS/Fearless/PLE for 2 on ARod, or GS/HRM/SFE for 1. In today's time with only 6AP, that AP savings is huge. QB release is all preference at this point - I was a slinger 3 fan until ARod and now I've really became a fan of slinger 1.

There are quite a few reasons for this.

1: Slinger 2 isn’t a very good release and many of the newer qbs have slinger 1 or 3 the 2 best in the game.

2: His abilities aren’t very good. Almost every gold 99 QB released recently gets the god stack for 2 or 3 which makes much more sense to use especially after the AP reduction.

3: His stats are honestly mid compared to most other 99 QBs in the game right now and his abilities and release don’t make up for this because they are also mid.

I have never lost to a team rocking mahomes at qb1 in online play.

So, yes he gets 4 abilities for 3ap. But they aren't the "God stack"

Hot route master, fearless, gunslinger, and pass/set feet lead. It looks like it would cost 5ap on mahomes. 

Additionally he is slinger 2 release. 

1&3 are considered the best w. The newer slinger 4 being the 3rd best. 

But 99% of anyone decent is using a slinger 1 or 3 QB.

I was wondering the same. I have used Montana he's pretty good, there was still something lacking to me with him but I'd recommend him. I went back to Hurts until i find a qb i really love. Maybe Aaron is the guy or elway

His release isn't as good as elways or Montanas and he gets god stack for 5 instead of 3 like both of them. This causes big problems in the 6 AP cap

Thanks everyone for the replies.  I think the root of the problem is first off that I didn't understand what comprised the "God stack".  I thought I was using the items that everyone used, so the 1 AP thing wasn't a deal-breaker for me.  I bought a Montana, since he gets 2X Chiefs Chem as well, equipped the real God Stack, and learned what HRM is, and how to do it, and yep, it makes a huge difference.    I played about 10 games with Montana this morning and won 7 of them.  Normally, I am 4-5 at best.  The biggest difference I noted was the accuracy of his throws, and no passes batted down.  I am still learning the HRM thing, but used it a few times and it is definitely cool.   Not that I am a runner, but I was also concerned about the loss of speed from Mahomes to Montana when I need to run, but Montana does just fine with the boosts and chems.   I kept Mahomes as a backup for the Chiefs Motivator Chem, since I don't need the coins from selling him.

He was at the optional training camp so I already did it was hard tho especially with double xp event 😉

I was running Mahomes for a while as well. I agree with you he doesn't get the respect he deserves since he's been out for a while. He gets two 0 ap abilities like some other QBs and with the 6 ap cap that's valuable. I switched to Rodgers solely because of Mahomes' release. And I don't run the "God stack" with either QB I run GS, Fearless and LRD with ARod
