Let's say the odds of getting anything good so high Redux, LTD, or GT is 1%. You'd expect to only get one in 100 rolls.

So I'd say 5.5 million and even then you're probably better off just buying whatever card you pulled with coins

I don’t have any actual numbers to back this up but I feel like a million or so is the minimum for me. Anytime I get bored and do 2-3 rolls with whatever training I have, the last roll EVERY single time is a grey strat.

Very rarely will it ever be worth it. There's a few people on twitter that make spreadsheets to show you the odds and they roll millions of training to get a good sample size. You basically have to pull an LTD, multiple legendary strategy items, or a GT to find value in the TVP which happens probably less than 5% of the time.
