i found that while it is difficult to play good against the offense, the defense is vulnerable against certain plays, i used the play out of dagger concept that is just titled dagger. it is the one that has three wrs on the left, with the outside running a deep in, middle on a go route, and slot on a deep cross. if your have good receivers (preferably with route tech) the cross or streak should be consistently open. after that its just a matter of controlling the clock, and getting 2pt conversions helps a ton.
Mid blitz works great in defense.
offense I used the standard 3 tight end single back formation, Singleback wing Pair. PA X Burst Cross, hit the TE coming across. Works everytime.

This right here. Excellent advice.
In addition to the TE being open, sideline catches to preserve clock also helps immensely.
Agree with what's been said so far those crossing routes are cheesy against the cpu.
A lot of the good blitzes use man coverage. If you're still struggling, I would recommend temporarily putting some man abilities on your DBs. Inside shade/one step ahead and one of drko or srko as I've found the cpu will either throw a deep streak or a try a quick pass if you blitz a lot.
I used 1 play for offense and defense.
Offense - Singleback Ace - Ace Posts
Put the RB on a Texas hot route and repeat. The LBers spread out to cover the TEs and this leaves a huge gap in the middle of the field every time.
Defense - already been mentioned - midblitz
