Who has recently made the move from Old Gen to Current Gen?

I bought a Series X back in March but did not have it in me to learn the new menu system for MUT23... so it just sat unopened for the past few months.  With MUT24 just around the corner I figured now is the time to make the switch.  I just set up my new system today and played a few games. 

I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to things... but I'd like to know if anyone else feels the game is just SUPER SLOW compared to old gen?

It's bad enough retraining myself for the new menus (coaching adjustments, play calling, substitutions, custom audibles)... but getting used to everything on the field just feeling much slower is awful.

Is it just me?

It’s more realistic on next Gen. Doesn’t have that arcade feel that old Gen had. Once you get used to it then you forget the old Gen feel.

It is super slow compared to old gen. my friend makes fun of me cause he beats me with old gen constantly because I’m used to new gen. Old gen also feels like arcade mode compared to new gen. It’s a big jump, but next year you’ll be used to it.

I've known that I have to make the switch for a while now.  My son got a Series S for Christmas like 18 months ago and I played MUT with him and HATED almost everything about it.  I have 4 weeks to get used to this... not feeling great about it Day 1 however.

I sure hope so bruh... after playing the hell out of M23 the past few months... I wouldn't say it feels "arcade"-ish.  It's just smooth and fast... on both offense and defense.  

I'm running my same maxed out Ravens TT now and I can't lurk at all... and have no stick at all on offense either.  I probably just need reps.

Just gotta get used to it. Why buy a new toy if you're gonna play with the old one?

Just preorder Madden 24 through my PS4 in game but got my PS5 and will install the game there so I get all my RP cards. Going to be a different change in game play I'm sure.

I’m doing the same exact thing man. This will be my first madden on current gen too. Not gonna lie…I’m going to be thankful I don’t have to deal with the field goal block glitch anymore lol

After a full day of playing on current gen... there is no way anyone can convince me that the game is "better" than it is on old gen (other than not having to deal with exploits like FG and punt blocks).   I think I've gotten the hang of usering but what the heck are these tackle battle mini games?  And guys can just throw high point passes to covered receivers and chances are they're coming down with the ball.  There's none of that nonsense on old gen.  

I can't even begin to imagine how slow things are going to feel at the start of M24 when your user has maybe 85 SPD because it's molasses right now with 99 SPD and everything else as well.  This is as good as it gets?

Im about to move to new gen. I like old gen madden alot other than the FG block glitch. Now my only decision is Xbox series S or series X. Im leaning towards series S cause all my games are digital anyways but ive heard the memory isnt much.

Lol turn in your PS5 or don't get M24 if you're going to cry after one day. All of us have had to go through the same adjustment. Give it time and you'll never go back to old gen.

Well what do we have here?  Another digital tough guy?  Stop being ignorant, son.  

No one is "crying" about anything.  I'm merely pointing out that I hear a lot of people saying how much better the game is on Current Gen.  It's different... but it's not better.  

Current Gen Pros:  Better graphics presentation.  Faster loading times.  No FG block exploits.

Current Gen Cons:  The gameplay is slow.  Menus are poorly designed and clunky.  There are stupid "tackle battles" where you just have to mash "A".  

The game design on Current Gen feels like it is geared towards kids and casuals.  Why is the user response so much slower?  Because little Timmy was tired of getting every pass thrown over the middle picked off.  Why are high points into coverage such a thing?  Because little Timmy can't make reads and throw to open receivers.  Why are there tackle battles?  Because little Timmy saw it in other games and wanted it in Madden.

There is no difference between them other than speed. Those updates don't make the game better.
