what do you think of the news they shared? I thought the item catalog was awesome, and I liked everything except the champion sets requiring any player of a certain overall, not just the specific program. Does this mean we will get those players back and not the heroes? Or will we get no players back?
The live hub looks nice to be aware of whats current
Catalog is interesting that we will be able to see every player there [seems like its an ingame mut.gg type thing almost]
Cross play means faster games for PC which is good for them
Gross that last gen consoles are holding back current ones. Devs need to stop last gen system stuff about 2-3 years after the new consoles come out. It just bogs current gen down too much.
Comp pass being all season long like the regular field pass will be interesting but also means youll have to play more instead of just the first week which kinda lame.... I wont ever make one of these but thats cool for them. I expect these to be expensive AF [The Limited version of that player can only be obtained by the first 1000 users to reach the level that rewards the player. This limited version will have extra Champion level ability buckets and IS auctionable.]
As for the any player for champs, I bet they are no longer getting players back because too many people have big BND teams all year, so to discourage people from doing that, they wont get players back.
I hadn't considered you might not get players back with the champ set changes. Personally, I'm a fan of the idea that champ sets won't require a specific promo only a certain ovr. But if like you suggest it means EA changes it so you don't get players back it would be a change for the worse.
I will have to see rewards from comp pass. But it seems like it could be even worse than 23 if rewards are only every season.
Not a fan of the change to the first 1000 people to finish the comp pass get a better version of the comp player. Personally, I'd rather everyone get the same reward for it.

Im almost gaurenteeing that they did it so theres not so many BND teams.
The first 1k is to get people to try to engage more and do more faster. They used to have actual LTD number of cards for BOSS L/UL so I assume its like that. Everyone still gets the same card but those who finish quicker get a little extra- which is nice.
Have we had any news on pack view?
trash by EA.....they dont care about the majority of the community, just another money grab and their not even hiding it anymore smh

It's not the same card if the first 1000 get an extra ability bucket like EA says it will. Not sure how abiliy buckets will work in 24 but in 23 you wouldn't say a card with one 0 ap bucket is the same as a card with two 0 ap buckets.
I have no problem with grinders getting a little extra. Just think that grinders would still benefit if everyone got the same auctionable card as they could likely sell for a higher price.

so the no life content creators and pros get hooked up and screw everyone else?,,,,,,,,classy move EA
At first the catalog seemed really useful, but then I realized mut.gg will be better and faster to look up players. Also that first 1000 people to reach a certain level in the cp get a better version of the card is just stupid. It literally locks a better card behind a wall of sweaty no life gamers, and means that not everyone can get it.

They will be auctionable... so anyone can theoretically get the better version of the card. I think that should have been the only incentive for grinders. But it looks like these will get an extra 0 AP ability bucket as well...
Some things are good but a lot of things I see is going to be about opening up the wallet if you want your team to get anywhere within the game, or so it's heading in that direction.
Before everyone gets excited about the catalog and everything the big question for me is... Did they upgrade the servers? If not then imagine the freeze ups and lag this game will have when trying to run all of the new features.
For NMS players I think it will be a lot harder yet manageable still. I do think EA will have to change plans in midst of the year because of less log in game activity from NMS players could be a problem for the company.
As a NMS player I can't imagine playing the comp pass for rewards for a full month to month and a half and with the feature item being more like work than a grind with only 1000 players to get the reward is definitely not worth my time. I am sure a lot will be fine for this but for me I am sure I can find better things to do with my time.
Now I won't know for sure how all this will play out until the game comes like everyone else.
Just my thoughts for now. Will know more once the game comes out.

If FIFA Ultimate Team is anything to go by; it will be a non-event.
The pack view in FUT has been around for a couple of years and is essentially available for only *one* basic pack each day. It is not available for any promo packs and is basically pointless.

Yeah if they use the same bullshit for the AH/cards/sets again then its going to be FUCKEEDDDDDD.
I am looking forward Madden 24 but I am not sure I would call the MUT Gridiron Note a 'deep dive'. The changes announced are are minor quality of life changes at best. So more of a 'shallow paddle'.
But, I have been around EA Ultimate Team games long enough, to know if they have any planned changes of note to the mode, they would have announced it when the new game is first announced. So, I had no expectations and they have been met.
The launch of Madden 23 MUT was a mess; particularly the season pass. So hopefully by limiting the changes this year; we will have a smoother start and we can concentrate on enjoying the gameplay and promo's which are the core of the mode.
