I don't have anything to base this on as Madden 23 was my first time playing but it seemed we got 99 and free ability players to quickly so I think this is a dub what are your options.
Theoretically, it seems like a good idea. The longer you can present a +1 ovr as an upgrade, the longer you can hold off on needing to do discounted abilities to make a card seem like an upgrade.
We'll have to see how it plays out though. Bad pacing of upgrades can ruin a game. Take a look at MLB the show, before this year a lot of people said it took too long to get 99s. This year mlb started off with 99s and a lot people at least say it's too fast now.
W, slows the pace of the game down making more cards better for longer. They tried to do it this year but the GC dual 0 AP stuff was too good they had to rush out 99s. Thats why some of the release ovrs were wonky near the end. It might’ve also been why the competing pass player was so mid too because it was the supposed to be highest overall when they released
OVRs don’t matter at all. As we saw with M23, it’s 100% ability / super power based. +/- 1 or 2 is inconsequential, neither an L nor W.
I think it’s great, this will allow for the game to (hopefully) last a lot longer

Definitely.
With 32 RPs being 84 and top core elites being 86, it is a huge W. The M24 RP starter team will be useable for a while for me, as I don’t play online.
