I do agree with that but the team captain players are so unpredictable. I feel like they just pull them out of their ass.

I would like to see them do away with the team captain free player. I think it would be cool if we could pick one offensive and one defensive team captain from our teams and that player gets some sort of free ability or a way to activate their X-Factor easier.

If they don't do something different with the abilities that the Captains get, it really won't matter.   Most of the time last year my "Team Captain" wasn't even on the field.

OFFENSE: RB Bettis, if no RB then FB Franco Harris. 
WR: I think Steve Largent would be an amazing team captain
