99 OVR 49ers theme team "cheats" -- where to improve?

I still feel liek Maniac is the best overall choice for most folks with the AKA BND freebie, however i ultimately selected Flash, as i've never tried that Phenom ability.  Gus was fun for a week or two, but I always felt liek something was missing.  The ball hit him in the hands and dropped to the ground less than it typically does to my FB (Joe Perry), however few player cards compare with the glory that is Flash, he catches the ball liek a high end WR.

Based on some recent events, learning that the potential for multiple free (0AP) abilities on future cards will almost certainly NOT be happening, i went ahead and scooped Byard this afternoon.  Will break my heart to replace Leon at FS, but 0AP Acrobat is nuts.  I've been sleeping on how good this guy almost certainly will be on the squad.

Lots has changed, both with MUT and the roster.

Second day with big Patrick Willis at HB2 splitting carries with Flash. Ended up putting Freight Train on him as 0AP X-factor, along with 0AP Short In Elite & 1AP Bruiser. I'm using him in two back sets out of Shotgun next to Flash who remains my feature back, but this has been hella fun. Wish I could take credit, but pro-tips from the community, thank you for this great idea.  🔥🙏🏈

On 50/50 49ers theme team with Sprinter and Sugar Rush strat bonuses, he's got 99 in all relevant stats, pretty incredible 242 back with decent hands too. Both are legit receiving threats out of backfield. 

And lastly, we have Mostert at HB3, he's got 0AP Returner for K&P special teams play.

Obviously have my sights set on the new Joe Montana for QB1, despite Timmy Tebow almost certainly being the better overall card, with his 99 Speed and incredible stat boosts through the Mission MUT promos, Joe Cool is my childhood hero, so will be trying to cobble things together to acquire him.  And that big Larry Allen would be a way legit option on the O-line and only the fourth (i think) card in the entire game to get 0AP Secure Protector.

Took a mini break, it's been a while since I've updated things.  The TT Remix promo has renewed my interest in the game and overall i'm very much enjoying the 6AP reduction.  It'd be cool if they fully removed all these abilities, but that'd be too much liek a fatball simulator, so we're going MMORPG for the rest of my MUT `23 career, or so it seems.

Tons of updates, back to primarily Man to Man on defense.  Just added Joey Porter Jr. to the roster a couple nights ago, have barely used him, so anxious to see how he does.  I couldn't replace Randy Moss CB fast enough, what a let down those Golden Tickets have been, eh?

Also tried to add the ability stacks, for whatever reason that always kept bugging out in the past.  Always eager to hear any feedback or thoughts or criticisms, constructive or otherwise.  Thanks for dropping in, what team are YOU running?

your team is awesome. Here’s some changes I’d suggest!

1 - unless u rlly like flash I’d get rid of him for a chem guy. When I had him he never actually outplayed any other backs I’ve used this year. McCaffeey obviously is really cool but otherwise keep him there if he plays well for you. Another x-factor back is also an option.

2 - I’d get George kittle at TE. gronk is good but never animated consistently for me but what you have is dope but walker swapped for kittle is something you could do

3 - I noticed you have no game changer players on your squad for your cheat spots. (You should have at least 1 token from the set) your best option would be to get Ryan Neal up at SS (he’s a monster) for free crusher and pa and he’s amazing in the box. And maybe Ceedee lamb in the slot and figure out a chem spot if you can.

Thank you, seriously appreciate the pro-tips. You're the second person now to suggest I part with Flash, I've been mixing in a little 99 SPD / 99 ACC 242lb monster Patrick Willis, also with Short In Elite, perhaps I'll look at CMC again. I know none of these options are Walter Payton or anything, but that Phenom ability has become such a crutch in both run and short passing game. Those Texas routes out of the backfield need to be user covered more often than not in my limited experience. When everyone is covered I dump it off. Counter to the left side out of Bunch with Larry Allen and Gronk with Vanguard both pulling can be pretty nasty, bring the maple syrup... lots of pancakes. Okay, that was corny, but the gameplay has been pretty legit.

2. Plus I was just being cheap with Kittle, I've been meaning to buy him, but Delanie has been really decent in short passing game.

3. I had Derrick Brown at DT1 until they released Arik Armstead. I really loved Byard and Fuller, they were golden tickets before their time. Bought Ceedee (twice) never used him, cuz Cowgrrls rarely fit on my squad, heh. Couldn't force myself to do it, I know he's really good with both SIE & SOE. But I love all my 49er receivers right now, just wish I had Jerry again, he was so good, but Aiyuk has +1 CTH to entire team, which is huge on both sides of the ball.

I'm rambling and getting off topic. You've posed some stupendous ideas, gonna make some tweaks, feeling flush with cash after selling Randy. Was hoping for Roger Craig UL for my roster. Thank you so much for your insight.

Larry Allen-If you have the coins, Larry Allen is great in every stat and his price should drop tomorrow because of Jahri Evans. Notable abilities are:

I would recommend a better LG but there aren't any good upgrades unless you want to put Larry Allen as a 97 (Boosted to 99 I expect) LG

Patrick Willis-Bill Romanowski seems like a clear outlier so I recommend getting Patrick Willis to replace him. Not only does he have Avalance as a custom X-Factor, but he also has 2 0 AP ability buckets. Some abilities that could go well are:

0 AP Pick Artist

Glover Quin-You should grind the Theme Team Remix Field Pass and get Glover Quin as your FS. He will have the 49ers TT Remix chem (Balanced I would say) and he's good. I heard you got the Jmaes Cook so do the solos for it and your daily challeneges. Some abilities you should consider are:

0 AP Deep In/Out Zone KO

0 AP Pick Artist

Joe Montana-The OOP Joe Montana K seems like a good choice if you play on new gen but might still be worth the upgrade anyways.

Gary Anderson-A 91 P doesn't sound great, but he can be good when doing sideline kicks (Or at least better)
