Glad I didn’t buy this. I quit in April after I got fed up with EAs constant BS, final straw being Trade Block removal. Swore I wouldn’t play again. My son bought ‘24 and convinced me to try it again. Here is my honest feedback:
1. The new interface is horrible - difficult to find anything and see field passes/rewards solos, etc. Not sure why they keep allocating resources into changing up aspects of the game that work fine and ignore glaring issues?
2. On field play seems to be smoother and more realistic than ‘23 in the few solos I was able to play.
3. I say few solos, because that is literally it - unless I’m missing something, there are a very few “preseason” solos and then a handful of headliners solos with some modest rewards. There literally is probably only about 60 minutes of content in game - there would be no point in playing h2h or solo battles, since the Comp pass doesn’t go live until late this week.
4. Based on the above, they are making a concerted effort to phase out all solo grinders and cater to only high money spent h2h players. I didn’t do RP, but even if I did, those cards won’t be available until “maybe late next week”? According to their stream. It will cost a lot of money to build an even competitive team based on the lack of content and rewards. Permanent removal of the trade block to eliminate farmers.
5. Glitches - couldn’t log on for 3-4 hours after release due to server problems, I achieved a rank in headliners where I was supposed to get an OBJ token to upgrade that free card - never received it. EA back to their shenanigans.
6. I’ve played for 6 years straight. I can honestly say the game has gotten worse for the player each year. I would urge anyone who hasn’t purchased this game, or is on the fence, to not give EA your hard earned money. If able to, I would suggest requesting a refund now, before it’s too late. Their screwed up day one servers would be reason enough after last years fiasco to question the stability of their system. Instead of fixing these server issues, they decided to rework the user interface that makes it close to impossible to easily navigate the menu and find the content(someone literally had to TRY to make these as bad as possible to end up with what we have in game now).
Hopefully this review helps - I really tried to give them a chance and tried to get wxcited for this release, only to be let down yet again by EA.
