It's specifically h2h games it seems...which is pretty sad because MUT is exactly what I wanted to play. I haven't played madden in years because I've been down on the whole thing but got in the mood for it this year and now being reminded why I wanted out. The game runs smooth if I do say, practice, or something that isn't online h2h. But if I play MUT h2h, there's input lag. Basically takes almost an entire second to respond to any button input I do. The graphics and animations are choppy and not smooth at all like they are outside of h2h games. I don't have this issue with any other PC games I play. Although I dunno if this matters or not, but I'm using the $5 EAids play 10 hour trial. I haven't bought the game but I'm not exactly being sold on buying the game here either. Anyone else have this, or know what to do about it (if anything)? My speed is 200 megs down, 5.5 megs up. Hope nobody is offended by anything I'm saying but just wondering if there is a work around or some sort of hope it'll be fixed or something.
Unlikely, but it could be a cross play issue if you have that enabled. It's new to madden this year and I wouldn't be surprised if EA hasn't worked out the kinks. Perhaps try a few games with it off if you haven't already. Alternatively, it could be that your opponent doesn't have a good connection. Though admittedly if you've played multiple games with it that's unlikely to be the issue. My connection is worse than yours and gameplay online is nowhere near as bad as that for me. But I'm on ps5 so I can't rule out any differences between ps5 and pc being the cause.
I thought about it and tried disabling cross play already =(

Sorry to hear that. Hope someone can give you a fix if there is one.
At least you didn't spend $70 on a game that has bad online for you
Indeed. Thanks anyway. It's looking like I won't buy it, although I'm wondering if maybe the trial somehow is why it's performing so poorly online. I doubt it though, but if they're really that dumb to put a crappy trial out, they're probably too dumb to fix a lot of problems...and historically, they kind of are.
I'm getting the same thing in H2H and house rules. Weird thing is it seems to get exponentially worse as the game goes on. First play is not too bad, second has like 5 seconds of lag between button press and it actually happening on screen. By the third play I can't even select a play as I get a penalty before it registers.
Limit your fps to 60 and 120. That should do the trick!

I've been having the same issue exactly, tried a million things my PC is unfortunately currently wireless bought a long cat6 cable to test if this fixes the issue. Pretty sure I also tested limiting FPS to 60 but will try again and report back

I did this and it doesn't change anything. It's not an issue with my GPU or anything related, or else it wouldn't run smoothly when it doesn't involve online/h2h type games, as I stated in my OP already. However I did notice the h2h games started getting considerably better, so I'll continue giving it another chance, as I believe a lot of this is simply initial launch hiccups.

Probably an issue with their servers, then. I have had a few instances with lag spikes which is annoying but EA is very cheap. Another game of there's which is Apex Legends is notorious for having terrible servers. But it is getting better like you said.

I suspect it will get worse when the game officially releases, but likely better after that...I hope. I think this is a sign of concern nonetheless. EAids.
I am hoping with more servers spread out for launch it might help or more people have the issue and they will fix...wishful thinking I'm sure. Have a post on the EA forum as well (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/MUT-24-PC-unplayable-lag-on-every-COOP-or-Online-game/m-p/12854193/highlight/false#M1738), they gave some steps to try and while I am leery as this seems like a server issue I will try in conjunction with ethernet vs. wireless and report back.
I ended up realizing part of the issue actually may be on my end. I was on an outdated plan with comcast and for some reason they never mentioned this despite how many times I've called complaining about the price/the plan. So they upped my plan for the same rate I've been paying anyway. We'll see how this might affect online play but I would imagine this only helps.
Oof, no, doesn't help a thing. My download and upload speed doubled but the game is actually even worse. Man EA sucks lol.
