with all the hype around Johnny Manziels netflix doc… potential campus hero?

i mean he fits the mould of the promo perfectly. hiesman winner, was literally a hero on campus, has a lot of relevance right now, and hasn’t been in madden for a long time. 

he‘d definitely sell EA packs. i’ll drop 500k on money manziel

i honestly think people are too harsh on him. firstly, yeah he broke NCAA rules. but they should have been paid a long time ago. reggie bush broke this rule too…

secondly, he is a human being. people judge whilst they themselves indulge in alcohol and partying. yes he was a professional athelete, yes he made mistakes. but the man is human.

When youre on that high of a pedestal you cant do that. Look at Tebow and his doc. Man was an angel but just couldnt it in the NFL (which I hated his doc. thought it would be better/about all the team arrests and shit, not a knob slob on Tebow/Meyer). 

Kyler Murray is the new age version of Manziel though. Doesnt playbook. Fucks around, injuries, COD interference, etc.

You can get away with literal murder if youre good enough. See Ray Lewis or any of the other felons in the NFL, as long as your good enough it gets swept under the rug.

thats what’s wrong with the world though. people choose what’s acceptable and what’s not. We don’t understand the pressure and consequences of having that much potential, media coverage and cult following on a young player who may not be capable of living through that 

think there’s a massive difference between who’s capable physically (i.e. manziel, kyler) to perform at the top level, and who’s capable whilst also under that much pressure at the top level. 

dude could ball, but made mistakes due to the stress. he doesnt deserve the hatred he receives. Ray lewis is 10000 times a worse person than johnny.

we also don’t know if kyler fucks around. we only see what the media wants us to see. this dude could do everything he could and still fail regardless if he still participated in his other hobbies. 

these guys are humans. things don’t always go perfect for everyone regardless of their input

Agree with Kaotikords, I don't think Manziel is well liked enough for it to happen.

But does CH usually include someone who was an absolute bust in the NFL? Not saying it doesn’t but can’t remember prior years CH. seems like it would be like have a Ryan Leaf card. Assume his on field performance is more the issue than his character given the multitude of players with checkered lives off the field who are in the game.

Idk man Lawrence Taylor was a crackhead and rapist and that dude gets OP cards every year. I think Johnny football can get a decent card even though he liked to drink and party with celebrities lmao

I don't think VY is a fair comparison.  VY won OROY and made the pro bowl twice. 

Johnny Football didn't even play a full season.  I think they leave him out because he didn't have a legit pro career as opposed to anything he did off the field (can't imagine EA cares if the NFLPA doesn't). We'll see though.

Addiction is a tough battle to conquer. I was lucky enough to get help for my addictions. My brother not so much..

You are right though, he is human. We are not perfect. We all make mistakes.

People can change.

With that said though, I think we would of saw him may be in the AKA promo as Johnny Football.
