Haven't tried it much this year. But I'm pretty sure it was a viable strategy last year. If I remember correctly some of the pros ran CBs at safety for some MCS events last year. I doubt the programming has changed much. As long as they have decent ratings for whatever you're planning to do with them they should be fine.
I use Brents rookie premier corner at safety sometimes with Ramsey, Watson outside, Jayir Brown, and Joey Blount subLb and Eric Berry in the slot and Reed Blankenship at the other safety.

I've been using 84 jaycee horn at strong safety and I have the +2 zone coverage for all cb's on my team. He has 85 speed, 86 zone and he has been pretty dang solid for me so far since I can't afford kam yet.
