To get the shutdown that  stays on for 3 plays and goes off for 9, do I need the shutdown aka upgrade or just the regular shutdow?

Shutdown AKA stays on for 3 plays and goes off for 9. If you spend the Training Points upgrading the AKA Player, you can then equip the upgraded version of the X-Factor which is the exact same, but the cooldown is reduced to 8 plays off instead of 9.
