GLITCHY Play that I can't stop. Help?

Whats up gang. Alright so I've come across this, I guess you can call it a glitch, more times than I'd like to. And I would like to know how to

1) stop it from happening to me

2) do it to others

On a deep ball, or maybe any ball thrown, but most effective on a deep ball, The QB lobs it up, my opponent clicks on his receiver and runs slightly to the middle of the field. This causes my corner to run inside with him (even if I click on the corner to try and run towards the ball closer to the sideline) my corner runs with the receiver, giving my opponent an easy path to the ball to haul it in. Its hard to explain but its like I have no control of my corner when this happens. Ive tried to replicate this, but all I end up doing is colliding with my opponents corner, preventing either one of us from catching it. Does anyone understand what I'm doing wrong in these two situations?

There was a huge cheeser in one of the Madden Bowls that made it popular.

The lamest of the lame do it. The same people cause intentional pass interference to disrupt your route and catch the ball. I blame EA for this. I’ve always wanted more penalties, but this game is made for 12 year olds who can’t hold their tongues in their mouth while they play. We need an adult play mode where it’s actually real.
