Help me. Please.

I can’t play this game, I went 0-10 in mut champs… I user a edge rusher and get lots of pressure but no matter my formation or play I pick I’m not stopping the pass or run. On offense, idek wth I’m doing anymore because these kids play the yt cheese defense of the week every snap and I cant do anything about it.

what playbooks should I use? what plays work on offense and defense? How do I get practice using a linebacker because I’ve used a linemen for years and this year its different.

i used to always use a lineman and i tell u what once u get good at usering it become much easier to play defense.

you're gonna go go youtube and type in "3-3 cub defense". Pretty much the easiest formation to learn a defensive scheme out of. the best thing to do is to skip using a linebacker and go to a safety, because linebackers may as well be pop warner players in pass coverage. its not as hard as you think it is, just pick a spot u wanna cover pre snap and think about combos that could go through there. No middle zones or ur playing a bunch player? eat the middle up. you take away a blue when ur sending heat? go cover that spot over top. its a lot of logical stuff, you got it.

Don’t know what anything After no middle zones means, im on old gen so I don’t have any idea how to change things out of stick defense, is there a yt video i can watch? But I’ll try the safety and ill watch on the cub defense

LinatiK is spot on. I’ll add to start out in Seasons H2H first. Champions is the cheesiest of the cheesy and where you see the Meta the most.

middle zone means exactly what it means, a yellow zone over the middle (hook curls in c3, a mid read and your hook curls in c2). theres SO much content on youtube to watch, you could probably find a scheme for whatever defensive formation you want to run, dont let people dissuade you from diving into it. If you dont know how to hang a picture frame, youre not just gonna go for it without learning how to do it first.

Fight cheese with cheese.

Get comfortable with RPOs 

find like 10 plays you like and favorite them, then just work off that. the game is much easier when you condense your playbook and are comfortable with all the plays and how the WRs break and stuff like that 

try usering a MLB. Even if you’re not good at it, people will be less likely to throw where your guy is

Try watching Spruce Goose, he's pretty good for tips and tricks.

if you were new gen i’d teach you to user. in madden 16 i was a d line user (first madden for me) and i couldn’t win so in madden 17 i decided to teach myself. now i would say I’m one of the better users in the community, i average 2.87 picks a game on my madden seasons. 

Key stats for a user:

- a safety is almost essential. don’t use a linebacker unless you’re specialised or need too. put them at sub linebacker  

- 6’1 and up is ideal. the taller the better

- look for good COD. 85+ is great

- higher jumping is great too

how to user

- at sub linebacker your job is to survey the middle  of the field. unless you’re in a flat or curl, then be mindful if you user the middle, as your assignment is the outiside so watch for crossing and out routes 

- lurking is KEY. following closely can get you picks, but if your opponent is smart or has no pressure, he won’t throw your way. with the taller safetys with good jump, i follow 5-10 yards under and i bait them to make them think it’s open. they jump up and snag it 

- don’t hold triangle for too long pre throw. refrain yourself from holding it until the ball is out the QBs hands. the pick artist abiltiy i’ve found helps a bit with earlier holds they dont seem to drop it as much

- play as if you’re on offence. when i cover a drag with my user, I’m watching who is running over top of me on a mesh concept. if i can see now the post is open because i followed the drag, i’ll pull up to the post as soon as i see it and 9 times out of 10 the opponent throws the post. you make your user judgments as if you were playing offence and who you would throw too, which hopefully would be the open post…

i have a lot of crazy user pick video clips, if you want i could maybe compile some of my best and do a voice over? and kinda explain what i was doing and what i saw? 

i learnt on my own so i found it hard as heck. but i’ve now mastered it as i’ve done it for so long. i’d be happy to pass on my knowledge
