I really don’t get it. People spend 1 million coins on 88 or 89 overall players instead of saving it for when higher overall cards come in. Can somebody fill me in please?
I guess people want to be able to win games now instead of waiting. I try not to spend more than 400k on a card so 1 million is too much for me. I don't think any card is worth 1 million
What card is selling for a million coin? Also what do you think is an appropriate Ovr that people should be allowed to spend their coins to improve their teams?

Last I checked Andrew Luck is goin for like 1.1 million.
You completely misunderstand the whole thing . You are acting like if you spend a million coins on andrew luck today, you can’t sell em for like 900k in like 4-5 days and you’ll basically get all your coins back. It’s not like if you buy the cards from the ah they become BND and you can’t get 85% of your coins back the way you are making it seem.
You buy the best most expensive cards to help you compete in this sweat game in h2h…then you gotta be smart and sell off the cards before a big promo drops or a new nice card for a certain position drops.
Like when Andrew luck dropped he brought vick down all the way to 240k and the blond bomber all the way to 180k the day luck dropped. Then today ”fruitpunch” dropped and he dropped the prices of all the big time cbs. 9 days ago I sold pat pete for 650k, today I bought 3 of his copies for 690k…..

If you just keep ”saving” then you wont have a good team at the moment. If you play online m, then you need to invest in players. If you just play with BnD and have 6 million coins, what’s the point of having the coins if you never spend them?
if you are just a solo challenge player, then you never really need the best players. Unless you like to collect players and play against the CPU. To each their own.
I tend to buy LTD’s when the price is good. Don’t lose coins and have a good card at certain positions.
There's an illusion in the game that if you have the best cards your lineup will be amazing and make winning games easier. Really the only time these players give you key advantages is when they get abilities that no other players get or when they meet rating thresholds 85, 90, etc... When in reality understanding how to beat zone/man with specific routes or specific route concepts. Understanding slide protections is probably the most important user ability this year with all the blitzing. When you get into the coding of the games there are certain concepts that will have 81 OVR players open the same way it gets 89 OVR players open.
If you aren't competing in MCS ladders, or single elimination stuff, live events buying cards in the first week of them coming out if they are not LTDs is just a waste of coins. The amount of coins you waste overpaying for a new card is way more than they extra coins you might make winning with that card over the first week.
Because they can't spend the coins on 90 ovr.
Why do you care what people spend there coins on?

this^ i felt victim to this in one of those maddens (not this year or before) and honestly it just depends if there is any difference in position this year, everybody litterally throws the same, covers the same, and has the same logic. if their first to get such ability i understand the millions but the name of the card shouldn't warrant millions it's what he gets that can change the gameplay and so far with all the names this year not a single ability changes my eye on any of these players.
TL;DR: i play what i already got on my team.

I'm literally using ramsey, 85 watson and slay, eric berry, and just got ed reed for 88k. hufunga and CJGJ at sub lb, get a little bit of speed to cover and figure out some good blitzes. I will not spend more than 400k on a card and usually i only do that for limiteds. I won't spend anything on my dline, he doesn't have to be good if he gets bumped free. any 82+ oline will do, my most expensive cards are slim reaper, aj brown, deandre swift. I do not play a ton, i typically go 7-4/7-3 in champs each week. I firmly believe it i spent up on better players it wouldn't help me any more or less.
I honestly don't know but it's probably just people with so many coins, they can afford whatever card they want and field the best lineup.
That’s the whole point of the game. Not sure you can just run with your base silver team until end of year when we get 99s that will be worth investing in because they can be upgraded?
Once you have built a good team, the incremental cost of an upgrade (say from 88 to 89) is not too much if you sell the lesser card at the right time. The hardest/most expensive thing is to build the first good team. You can then just invest "maintenance" coins to keep it upgraded. These maintenance coins come from playing the game or from playing the market.

That’s what I do. It’s not like all cards become worthless as soon as a newer card comes out. If you are aware of what is coming the next day sell when they make an announcement before it releases to minimize the loss. I try and get good LTD cards so at least I know what the floor value will be.
