Cuz why play I'm just doing my objectives don't need to win to do that
GGerz said:Stupid that people leave… just message for objectives lol
Exactly, idk why more people don’t work together ha ha
Cause I don’t care what xp is available, you play like a jackass, I’m out.. it’s not that important.

So someone scoring a TD on you means they're playing like a jackass?
Good to know.

no, someone doing broken plays like RPOs means they're playing like a jackass, they don't deserve any progression from me

Their pride…
even before the change, I was messaging people when I was up 1 positions with the ball, while getting the ball at half. 3 score swing usually for me, i’m a 20-23 win player this year when I play a full champs. I help you, you help me. Book we both win.
they made wins not matter outside seasons

My old drill Sergeant would say this all the time as he smoked us for the 10th time since chow.

Wins don't matter but stats do. Quitting after the first drive is dumb since you can't get stats if you quit. The excuse was "well stats only count during wins so why waste my time" now what's the excuse? Not asking you personally but in general. Seems to me like people don't even want to compete anymore

Because Madden isn't a game of quality.
Because majority of the playerbase run the same stupid sheep plays on repeat amd smugly believe it makes them good at the game.
And because the majority of the playerbase all run the same dumb sheep plays, there's a great chance that the very next game will be just like the last one, so again no incentive to stay.

The incentive is to compile the stats for the pass. EA has made it where even mediocre players can progress on the pass easily. How else are they going to get all the team tackles if they don't stay in games?
I don't run the same play or even the same formation all game. I see what you are doing on defense then adjust my offense to that. And I've never thrown an RPO in my life!

You hit the nail on the head. I think some people want to just move on to games where they have the upper hand. So when an opponent scores on the first drive or shuts down their offensive scheme... rather than fight back and try to score themselves... or try something different on the next drive... they just give up.
Also... you can improve at the game by playing guys that are better than you. Just last week I lost to both the #1 and #2 players on old gen XBox. Both were running Gun Deuce Close schemes that I had not encountered much at all this year. I was able to compete for about 3 quarters in both games but eventually they countered my adjustments and I had no answers left. I stayed to the end of both games and watched replays of how they were able to beat my defense. Then I hit practice mode to see what additional counters I could come up with. It's what I do whenever I get beat by something off meta so that I'm better prepared the next time I face it.
But there are players that say "that's too much work... I don't really care that much about getting better".
It's sad. Why even play head to head?

I agree 100%. A huge part of h2h is the learning experience for me and adjusting to my opponent. H2h is competing and adjusting, people don't want to do any of it. Like if they go down 10-0 or whatever, they leave. What fun is the game if you just play games that you win? Losing is a part of it too, especially now that stats count all the time.
i've been down in a lot of games this year, some games you make a crazy comeback and some games you just lose, it is what it is and it's all part of the experience. People just don't want to do shit anymore. Don't worry, soon we will have people asking to buy the comp levels so they don't even have to compete online anymore.
The way they look at it is why work for it? If they complain enough or quit enough, it will get handed to them or watered down. Welcome to 2023
Ive only played 4 games this week and already had three people quit out. The only game I finished, I lost by a TD haha… the games people quit though they were having trouble moving the ball, so I kinda get it. Idk how though, my defense is trash.

The incentive is supposed to be having fun within the game. Padding stats doesn't seem all that fun.
99% of the playerbase is mediocre, its the reason why you all live and die by the Cheese and META plays/players.
And I can guarantee that you have ran a RPO, everyone has. Sometimes they're the only running play in the formation that isn't a draw or a sweep.
