That sounds like regular zone. Is it possible something happened to cancel match? But don't get me wrong, I do get torched with it at times.

Not sure. I'm not shading or anything but i do see the difference. I rebuilt my secondary so it will take some time getting used to

You dont have zone drops set that will turn match off but there is a way to jump from match to zone on the fly

Resetting the play will cancel match as well but without seeing don’t know what else it could be. One thing you could try if you want to play zone is to take off abilities on your secondar. I haven’t heard it effecting secondary players but I know your DL can be negative impacted by having abilities on.

It also resets if you use play sticks. They ignore your zone drop adjustments in match, but if you use play sticks, they cancel match and go into their zone assignments along with whatever you set your zone depth at. If you press, expect to get torched if you can't get immediate pressure and don't shade or shade improperly.

One issue I suspect might be happening is actually usering the wrong assignment possibly throwing off the rest of the defense or a portion of it, which does line up a little bit with how match works (though as usual, not in the way Madden responds). This is a pretty difficult issue to test because there's a lot of variables that come into play, but I've been working on it.

Defense definitely sucks, yeah match gets burned over the top and often in the flats as well, it's definitely not something to do every play. Of course running man coverage without blitzing isn't much better if at all, and same with standard zone, and if you blitz too much you get screwed if the opponent is good...sooo, my idea for team building now is the common denominator in every one of these scenarios, not far off from what I was doing before but stepping it up even further - put your coins and some AP in the defensive line (or whichever 4 you rush every play). I'm thinking this is the best way to combat the whole situation at this point. Because while DBs are important, even the best ones I've put out there have gotten burned in 2 seconds a few times. Hopefully this works out for me.

All of a sudden my defense is playing somewhat better, but now my 90+ rr receivers can't get off man press. Couldn't get off primetime press. How? He has 70 press.

Because other than speed, stats are pointless. I'm done chasing top defensive players. I'm going for the fastest players on defense and leaving it. Idc anymore

I played a guy that ran bunch verticals and the wheel very was always open no matter what. It was either open in the flat or along the sideline or he'd hit a wide open corner route because my DB would jhst keep running. Other than that, my defense has been playing solidly. No match coverage or anything. Just base align, conservative read option, and match by speed.
