I grabbed the new 91 speed corner, but he’s only 5’9 which concerns me. I’m little money spent and low on coins, wondering if he’s worth keeping. I like his stats - but the height worries me.
Typically, height is something a lot of people want for CBs. However, there's been a lot of talk about height not being as important this year. In a world where there's 90 speed WRs and TEs, I think Maddox has some use as the only CB with 90+ speed on a non theme team. He's probably going to be on a decent amount of teams just because of his speed.
If you're concerned about his height, consider putting him in the slot where he's less likely to have to defend jump balls.
NO! He will be absolutely fine. People like to cry about height, but it's absolutely fine. They all want interceptions, but pass break ups are defensive wins. If your opponent throws 4 passes at a CB with knockout abilities and lockdown coverage and they get knocked out, then it's still a turnover on downs. It's dumb to think of they're not making picks, they're worthless. The worst scenario is in run defense. They will get absolutely bodied by just about any form of decent blocker. Honey badger is the same height and he balls out every year. I've even had him moss the really tall 50/50 WRs like Herman Moore, Calvin Johnson, etc.
