what is your guys opinion on how to defend the TE streaks or WR post in the middle of the field. I've tried press, zone, man. Also dropped my LBs back. For the life of me I cant stop it. Is there a way to put my SS or FS to cover middle or just assign them to man coverage on a certain receiver
first of all your linebackers have to be linebackers who have lurk artist or basic safeties playing inside the box and they have to be decently fast (87 spd or higher). Since I play 2-4-5 nickel I have 2 safeties/ linebackers on the field. What I like to do is man up one of the linebackers on the TE who is on the streak and user the other one to try to run with the WR post. Do this in cover 3 sky and set your curl flat drops to 25 or 30. Do not press cuz DBs do not play totheir assigned depth and pass commit for faster sheds (onl if you know that he's passing). If your linebacker gets beat on the TE streak, you have safety help over the top and if you're beat on the post the curl flat should normally bag it. Continue to adjust accordingly but thats the core.
but if the guy quicksnaps a play like Double Post from bunch there is basically no way to stop that
