How does 89 Barber play?

keep Berry at SS, he's the best free card by far (not counting the MCS cards), plus boost him with 25 team chems to get +1 SPD etc...

I've been using Cover 1 Hole out of Nickel in the 49ers playbook. It puts one of your linebackers (Polamalu in my case) on the RB and then your other sub lb is in a yellow with your FS in a deep blue. You user the yellow obviously and just help whoever looks like they have been beat while still having a deep blue over the top. It has been working pretty good actually.  You can even use the deep blue to cover manually over the top and still have the yellow in the middle for support.  

That's why i need Pola-Mao who will be at 90 man coverage for me, Cover 1 Hole puts your SS on a WR or TE, i forgot which one but still. When zone gets beat, i use Cover 1 Hole to switch it up. It's not OP or anything but it's different.

also, are you getting Pola-Mao? That would be huge for you if you are 100% nms. It's huge for me and i spend here and there lol

Why would we take defensive advice from a guy who literally just posted a crying thread about getting lit up on defense?

I said i was trying out a new defense and that defense has actually been working. Doesn't mean defense still doesn't suck. Is your brain capable of understanding that? i think i know the answer

Trying something new in the last 25 minutes:

"Once again, it's the defense. I just can't seem to stop anything. I'm using more man coverage but even that isn't enough and after awhile, it gets burned. I'm out of answers and i'm getting burnt out dealing with a shootout every single game and sometimes i just don't have it in me to put up 40+. I might just have to switch to a more manage the clock style and barely give my opponent the ball because nothing else is working."

Someone needs to take a break from the game and forums, not thinking clearly. 🤔🤦🏼‍♂️

Imagine a football game where height and speed weren’t the only things that mattered.   The game coding has been so lazy and sucked for so long.  Sad.

He plays like a very tiny version of an adult male CB.  I found him getting mossed regularly.  I went to Crowder With Lutk Artist, and he has played out of his mind - controlled by the CPU, gets at least 1 pick/game and plays the run well.  I haven’t noticed that he is a bit on the slower side.  I run mostly man too, so a lot of times, he is manned up with a HB or TEband plays great.  Way more economical than Robinson or Willis, and Hicks and the new MF LB that comes out today have no coverage stats, so they would probably

make good users, but can’t be left alone.  Crowder is great.

played a full season with 89 (boosted to 92 for MF event h2h) Barber, and i'd say he's a 7/10. Locked up ppl well so didn't get thrown to much, but got burned by some of the bigger recievers (D.K, Moss), would recommend as a slot CB though

out of his abilities probably IMO.. unless you put him back at safety, I think he belongs in the box at SUBLB1, so to me it's either mid zone KO or lurker. I had lurker on Kam at sub LB1 and it def made a difference. I usually user my FS (Ed Reed) so it being an AI player also factors into my reasoning

Ed Reed still has the best SPC of any safety and like third best SPC of any DB... gets solid animations and still fast enough with 25 chems, plus Ed Reed is one of my favorite players of all time, do okay with him back there...

I did the same thing -- i.e., got Pola-Mao and swapped Berry for Barber.  I run a 35/50 Steelers squad, so Barber has 89 Speed, 90 Acceleration, and 85 Jumping.  I play a lot of zone and match coverage, and early returns on Barber are STRONG.  He picked off a streak over Metcalf when in a pressed quarter, and he gets back fast on deep thirds as well.  Since he's short, he's not the best player in a cloud flat, but other than that I really like the way he plays.  I use him on the outside, with Revis as my other outside CB, and Joey Porter Jr. in the slot (because he has 90 MCV and I man up my slot CB a lot).

I've had pretty much the same experience with Crowder since my I my defensive scheme is mostly man as well.

Who are your current users? Mine now are Pola-Mao and Robinson (it was a crap ton of coins that I spent on him but so far it's been worth it).
