Im just not allowed to ever see a good ref.
So as my profile pic shows, im a big Vols fan, and the refs have been screwing us all season, as i said about a month ago, its just starting to get exhausting. Against Alabama i didnt have any hope of winning, but then being up 17-0 at the end of the first was a huge shock, and thats where the good feelings ended. The refs somehow only called ONE penalty (Snap Infraction on the center) for five yards against the most penalized team in the country??? I couldnt believe all of the things bama got away with, just a few examples.
3rd and goal, Obvious holding on TE McCallen Castles. Not called, UT has to settle for a field goal.
On his TD catch, Jermaine Burton KICKED the defended right in front of the refs, NOTHING. If i remember correctly there was also fairly obvious missed hold on the same play.
3rd and 11 i think, pass interference is called on UT db Gabe Jeudey-Lalley for touching the receiver.
(now i will admit, there was a missed call where UT linebacker Elijah Herring was attempting to punch the ball out while falling and punched the receiver in the helmet instead, that should have been called.)
It's no surprise to me though, the NCAA wants Alabama vs Georgia in the conference championship, since that is the matchup that would make the most money.
Also, im not gonna act like this loss was purely on the refs. Playcalling was very predictable and conservative in the 2nd half, and theres not excuse for that. But its still hard to win when the refs are against you. Joe Milton for once wasnt the problem, he did have that fumble-six late in the fourth, but the game was already over by then.
