The speed logic in this game lol

I was just thinking about posting this the other day and forgot to and a similar thing happened several times just now so here it is lol jawan johnson (87 spd te) just caught back to back like 70 plus yard catch and run tds and ed reed and Darelle revis (91 and 90 spd respectively) couldnt catch him. Reed in particular, who i was usering, was within a half step when he caught it, yet over the next 60 or 70 yards couldnt gain an inch. Stuff like this seems to happen to me often. BOTH WAYS. 

For example my guys get caught from behind alot more than I think they should, in that very game CMC had a huge head start and after 70 yards running sprinting in a straight line down the sideline he got tackled at the one inch line by what seemed to be a corner from the complete opposite side of the field (that seems to happen too much too btw, my players failing to fall slightly forward or put the ball out a millimeter leading to a bunch of inches to go situations that irl would be easy first down/touchdown 99/100 times) but thats a whole other thread lol

it's not just SPD tho, PUR I feel like plays a big factor, which is why I'm not a fan of that S1 Ramsey, even with him fully maxed out from S1 and 25 Rams chems (+1 SPD and ACC) his PUR sucks so seems slower and gets cooked more often it seems to me at least...

I think the game is coded that way. Once a ball carrier gets close to endzone during long play. The trailing defenders will get close, but the tackle animation will never trigger.

Yea you're right, Ramsey does suck. I kinda been trying to replace him and the entire season 1 chemistry actually. Just sick of having those guys in the lineup so i might just buy a new CB and get rid of Ramsey for good

The angles of pursuit in the game are absolutely wild.  I started having initial complaints late during `23 cycle, does not seem to have improved much (if any) this year.  No real rhyme or reason how or why things happen.  EA gonna EA, ya know.

It definitely feels like that. I've noticed lots of guys with high speed but low pursuit get outran in chase downs and on streaks. There's not many players with very high pursuit unfortunately.
