Need help setting up Mable coverage

Hi all,

I want to try the mable converage like it is explained in several youtube vids but I have problems with the required adjustments.

I tried it with dime, nickel 3-3, nickel 4-2 and dollar 3-2 but I have always the problem that the respective player doesn't allow me to choose the required zone adjustments.

I want to start from base align and e.g. my SS can only be changed into a curl flat (no hard flat or outside third) when I choose a Cover Three.

When I start with Tampa 2  I cannot select e.g.  inside third for my FS and outside third for my SS.

And when I select hard flat for my LB it seems that he don't really go there or way to slow that he cannot cover a corner route.

Would be thankful for any tips or guidance how to set up a mable coverage.

I'm far from an expert on such things, but I believe the various Packages (using the left & right analogue stick to adjust the from the Formation menu, before you select any play) may help unlock certain coverage schemes you are "missing." 

Start with something basic, perhaps. I often will call DB Fire 2 from Dollar, it's one of THE most popular formations in the entire game, great against both run and pass... if you aren't getting pressure, you're going to get eaten alive this year.

Anyway, from DB Fire 2, Pinch the entire defense, individually backup your outside corners. Put the blitzing Slot corner on the SHORT side of the field into a Vert Hook... voila. You just got a double-mable on the short side of the field with a 4 man rush that could potentially get pressure.

Similar double-mable concepts can be run from tons of schemes as you already pointed out. Dime Cover 4 Quarters is another great base to start from. Be sure to set your Defensive Coaching adjustments. Flats to 30 yards and Curl Flats to 5 to start, allow your opponent to dictate further adjustments. Match coverage ON.

To summarize, you want a light blue 30 yard Flat Zone + deep purple 5 yard Curl Flat on same (often short side) of the field. However you get there is fine. 15-20 minutes in practice mode and you'll be firing off those adjustments. Just need to repeat it enough to commit to muscle memory. You got this. Good luck, have fun!

Zone drops turn match off so I don't know why it'd be required.
