Been playing for 6 or 7 years, so I’m not new.   LTDs were not presented as a promo, just some bonus cards that were in packs for a LTD time - we always have limiteds, legend bosses were part of the Legends “Promo”, which has solos, sets, etc.  I have still not seen any ”promo” that was strictly 2 levels of cards in packs, with “promo“ specific packs as the only part of the promo.  They presented this as a replacement for AKA - where’s the free card after 3 mos of grinding?  Where are the solos that award tokens or a low overall card for enagging? This is simply a blatant cash grab - I’m certainly not a newbie, but it is clear who the people on this site are that are on EAs payroll and constantly try to turn EAs chicken shxx into chicken salad.

I'm definitely old, but new to the modern Madden realm.  I don't think we ever had any fatball games on Atari 2600, but i played the shit out of Tecmo Bowl and way early Madden offerings throughout much of the 90s.  But yeah, i've missed an awful lot over the decades.  Big John must be rolling in his grave seeing the state of affairs.  Even if he were senile, i'm not sure he'd ever allow this to happen.  He was trying to teach the game to everyone, the current state of Madden (especially MUT) in no way resembles his immense efforts and contribution to the game.

I was at least hoping for some solos so those of us who don't have the coin could try them out. I agree with you op it's very disappointing that this is how cover athletes work

In past maddens: AM, CH, GTs, Stocking Stuffers, Team Builders, TTR, WW, Flashbacks/HW/Vets, etc, Power ups, Redux,

AM, CH, Stocking Stuffers, Team Builders, TD all had sets. WW were always way behind the meta. We usually even had solos to earn a BND GT card.

I have no problem with a LTD boss in packs but how do the lower OVRs not even have a set? They’re just like Angry Runs cards I guess?

I’m happy the only Eagles possible are McNabb and Vince Young. I’ll happily roll with my free Vick and skip this particular cash grab

Yeah but they didnt have solos/passes for them depending when it was. They just dropped. 

Thats what I would consider them. 

Steelers only getting Troy who has a 90 so I assume hell be the last one and hell last that long since hes 90/90 even as backup.

Ya and pack odds this year are hilariously bad so good luck pulling them unless you have unlimited madden spending money, I for one do not

I dunno, i respectfully disagree.  John already had liek ~$150M fortune, he didn't really need the cash, but perhaps his sons would have (or do) care more about those royalty checks -- i don't think anyone would question that big John was legit passionate about the game of fatball and ensuring it was brought to the masses.  Please correct me if i'm wrong here, but this whole idea started as a way to teach the game to youth.  Then again, the entire NFL is mediocre in the modern era (says Tom, don't shoot the messenger).  He has an interesting point.  Preseason barely exists, rules prevent players / teams from performing any type of offseason workout regimen.  I'm totally with the NFLPA, in the sense that it's an extremely long grind of a season, but September football is a prime indication of how sloppy things are.  It's taken ~2 months for the league to shape up and even then, there's only a handful of what i would term legit good teams.

Anyhoo, i'm just rambling, as per usual.  Thanks for taking me to school, as per usual.  Much obliged.

Yeah I dont think hes cared about the game for a LONG time (were talking back to Mut 25 or even longer) here. 

Its more fantasy and arcade over real football and has been for that long.
