Defense Tips

First year MUT player and I’m a little below average probably. My playbook is 46
 

I have a 90 OVR defense with Pola Moa and Luke being my sub lbs. Champ, DRC, and Sauce are my CBs with Lott and Epps (TT) being my Safeties. 

I understand shading for the most but I don’t understand the blue, purple, green zones and when to adjust them. 

I’m hoping I can gain some clarity on in-game adjustments and how to be competitive on defense. Corner routes have been killing me lately and my players always seem like they are just one step behind. 
 

any advice or help would be appreciated!

I’m 15-1 in champs right now I’m not near a pro player but I hold my own.  Defense has a lot to do with what formation your opponent is in.   

what the blue purple yellow zones do are different if your in match or spot drop zone. 

Purples are curl flats . They go the flat if a player goes there if not they drop into the curl area you can adjust there depth in coaching adjustmements. 

the greens are cloud flats  or soft squats in match as well but they’re on your outside corners. You can use them to guard the sidelines up to 30 yards  or trap coverage in match.

Blues. Outside third, Outside Quarters  they cover deep on the sideline and seams.   

Blues on the safety’s deep half’s inside or outside thirds. 

your secondary is good. For corner routes you could run 30 yards flats out of cover 2 but you have to have either put the mlb in a middle third or user him yourself to protect that area. this is the easiest set up and what most do. It’s not what I  use though but it’s a good start.   

Mix in man as well your corners are good enough when you play zone you need to man up the biggest threat on offense With one of your hook zones or a curl flat defender.  Don’t call the same coverage every play unless your opponent has no answer for it. 

base align makes every defense you call look the same as well. I don’t use this but most do and it can help disguise your coverage.   

When you get time learn match coverage that’s what I run and it’s really good for stopping the meta.
