I was getting 86 core set players for under 30k with a few exceptions. is this a good target price? how much will they go up to once TD's drop? im on old gen

Did they release set requirements?

To Kaotikords' point, the set requirements this year may look fundamentally different than they have in previous years for three reasons:

1. The program is being released ~ 1 month later than it has in recent years, meaning more program cards have been released than Core cards compared to average
2. The reduction in OVRs this year (compared to previous years) means that this year's 92 OVR hero is essentially the equivalent of a 93-94 OVR in last year's game.  That means Core Elites and Golds don't carry enough TP to build the 92 Hero - you need 87 OVR+ cards to get there, and those are program cards
3. The explosion of "same player, multiple card" programs like AKA and All Madden mean there are many more 82-86 cards that AREN'T Core Elites than in previous years.

In turn, three things will make the set builds painful:

1. Random selection of <80 OVR cards, especially since the Auction Houses are super low on them right now
2. Required >88 OVR cards rather than Wild Cards (good luck finding some random TOTW 89 OVR when you need it!)
3. Random midlevel program cards (i.e., 84 AKA Jerome Bettis, or 86 OVR Legend Willie Roaf).

I've seen in other Maddens where program cards were required as well. Headliner cards, AKA cards, Legends, etc. One year low 80's Legends were super expensive because they were no longer required for Legends sets so most people QS them

I'm scared to death as an old gen player that there's not enough auction house activity for people to even complete the sets. The master is going to be the rarest card in the game and it's not even close imo.

Anything's possible!  A peak at one card's set requirements during tonight's reveal would be HUGE, given they announced the TD release won't be until Friday.

As a PC player I sympathize with your plight.  Currently on PC there are only 83(!) TOTAL Core Golds between 75-79 on the AH.  And there are ONLY 22 84-85 Core Elites!  There are hundreds of 90+ cards available.  This speaks to the upside down nature of the game - all the action is on the high cards, as (without legit Theme Teams at this stage) there's little reason to hold any card that you're not putting in your lineup.

If you go by last years Team Diamonds 2 which is closer to this version 86 core will be included last year headliners and Legends were the key cards so I assume Legends(89-90?) will be in there then a Program card(Harvest TOTW?))

Very good point, Ahawkalypse.  They might decide to just make the program like the TD2 version has been the last two years - almost entirely a wildcard-like setup, with minimal team-specific requirements.  That would also mean every card less than, say, 86 becomes completely useless for the rest of the year (unless you're waiting on Theme Team Remix!)...

Yeah this is going to be REALLY hard with all split AH now...

I'm  not volunteering to do this necessarily, but MUT.gg (website and Discord) should have a thread for posting requests.  For instance, I need two Core Golds on PC - Willie Gay (Chiefs) and Andrew Van Ginkel (Dolphins).  They haven't been available for more than three days!

I mean you can ask but theres less supply with 5 different AHs. Thats the main problem.
