people gamble for the excitement, people go to vegas to shoot dice & play blackjack, the real world money creates value in the experience/game...... if money wasn't on the line nobody would care.
This is wrong, and I can prove it just by using another game: MLB The Show. You earn stubs, you buy packs with only stubs, you can buy stubs, but you definitely don't have to. You earn some of the best cards in the game just by, shockingly, playing the game. You earn some of the best packs in the game just by playing the game with guaranteed diamonds. There's rare cards in packs for sure, but what's cool about MLB is they give you a chance to pull a "topper" in a regular pack, so then you get a shot at that rare card.
Madden could go to this exact same model and be successful, no doubt in my mind.
