alr thx for the hlp guys!
xconraex said:Try a unique playbook (if you can get one now). I’ve ran Pistol playbook for years and people usually don’t know how to defend a lot of it. There’s a ton of runs that are great, lots of great passes and route combos. There’s a few packages where you can get a WR in the backfield or lined up as a #2 TE.
how can i get pistol playbook if its not in playbook set pack

1 Te Cross (burns bad or dline users)
2 Rb Out (sometimes I can get the person to pull the Rb‘s defender to stop the Te)
3 Wr deep (Of I have a good matchup wr/ corner or if I get the safety to stay shallow to guard the cross)
4 Scramble out (playmaker the rb up the field to block, gets about 5 yards)
5 Te Curl (Never throw it cause it’s always the third string te and is never open and a cross body throw. Think I throw it about 2/1000 times)
It’s really good against the cpu normally is how I get all my challenges done. It‘s not that much worse against real people it just isn’t as affective cause normally the user drops back to cover it after a few times of getting burnt.

Wow, valuable stuff here. Thanks for the detailed explanation.

what playbook(s) can i find it in

I run it mostly in Packers, but you can find it in 9ers, Bears, Bengals, Bills, Broncos, Browns, Bucs, Cardinals, Chargers, Cowboys, Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Lions, Pats, Raiders, Seahawks, Steelers, Texans, and Titans. Also I forgot to mention in the other one but it’s a 1 WR 1 RB 3 TE singleback set. So you can bait run pretty hard. I get the stretch going in that formation easy and then when the shift to cover that you throw that cause it goes the opposite way of the field
In the niners and chiefs playbook under singleback formation PA Y DRAG is a deep shot with a TE release underneath that gets great seperation you may need to max protect if they blitz with user though. You can audible out into a run or a PA to the oposite side f your opponnet begins to cover it .
Steelers offense Steelers defense
shot fade cross, te corner, verticals with the corner, pa Steelers shot

steelers gun trips y slot to gun bunch to gun tight y off is demonic lol
Cross wheels, flood drive, and tight curl steelers playbook
I'm a run heavy player, so maybe it won't fit with what you're looking for, but I'll post a couple. I run Ravens O/Raiders D. Big fan of Powers/Buck Sweeps, so fast guards for pulling are key to getting out in front.
- rTwo Buck Sweeps: Buck Sweep Read Opt (SG Wing Slot Wk) and Buck Sweep (SG Y Off Trip Wk). The Option Sweep is particularly nasty if you have a QB that can move.
- rStrong Power (Pistol U Off Trips). I can run this play all day, and it's really good cause you can flip it to either side without flipping the formation. Note that both this play, and the Buck Sweeps have both guards pulling, so as I said above, speed there is important.
- pTE In (Trips TE Offset). You can mess with the outside WR on Trips side, otherwise this play is pretty good on it's own. Inside WR and the TE run a shallow concept (Drag under a square in). RB runs a wheel off the TE side, and the middle WR runs a go. I have Faulk 92, so the wheel is particularly deadly. Drag is almost always open
- p83 HB Choice (SG Bunch Y-Flex). Dagger out of this formation is good too, but this play, if you have time, can be a TD a whole lot.
- pFour Verts (SG Empty Quads). Everybody else mentions verts, so why not lol. This is my brainless play when playing the CPU and needing pass yards/tds/points in chunks.
On defense, I use all my formations, but with my personnel now (Packers keep getting front 7 players smh) 3-4 has been getting a lot of play. I also like Man way more, but do switch up quite a bit with Zone. I'll just post a couple plays from some formations:
- 3-4 Odd: Pinch Buck 0, Will Buck 3 Press. Obligatory zero blitz. This one probably my favorite to use. Obviously zero requires getting home quick, but fortunately out of this formation that's what happens much more often than not. Buck 3 Press is cover 3 behind a blitz. What I'll often do is manually blitz the LB that's supposed to drop into a zone (my OLBs are Rashan Gary and Clay Matthews, so don't want them dropping lol) then man up the solo WR. Puts pressure on my user though, which will be a common issue in these zone blitzes I like to use.
- Nickel 2-4 Dbl Mug: LB Blitz 3, SS Blitz 3, Nickel Dog 3 Buzz. This formation is where I get creative. I switch my sub LBers and Rush ends. So Gary and Matthews are in the middle, and Campbell and Hendricks are on the outside. I have to switch some assignments around, but I like messing around with this formation. Sends blitzes from some different spots. Guessing game. One thing I'll say from abusing it when ppl run it against me, is it is NOT good against the run lol. Or maybe I just know how to attack it.
- Nickel 2-4: Buck Slant 3, Overload 3 Seam. Again, I usually manually blitz the end that drops, again putting pressure on my user.
Man coverages and blitzes are a dime a dozen. Not too different regardless of formation, but I will say I like Robbers a little more than 2 High. And if I run Cover 4, it;s usually with match on. Sorry for the long post lol.
I use the Titans offense and colts defense
My favorite pass play is Dagger out of Gun- Bunch Y-flex. I call it "chinese dagger" because there is another dagger named play out of Gun Trey y flex that is also a really good play
Anyway though, with this play the streak route will always be open against most cover 4,6 and 1. the safety just goes dumb and doesn't cover leaving a wide open td. if the safety doesn't go dumb, then you have a crossing route and a deep in route to throw
As for defense, I run alot of different plays but my favorite is cover 3 seam out of big nickel. just works good
eagles offense, raiders defense
rpo bubble/screen, read option, play action (typically rollouts and crosses), 5 wide
nickel 2-4, 3-4 odd, i like a lot of man blitz and cover 3 and ive recently started using more tampa 2
