I run a lot of man and cover 2 zone and occasional meta blitzes but I'm just getting torched no matter what I call it's like every players open no matter the defense design
It’s just the way the game plays you sometimes. I will have dbs playing a zone but some how a route is wide open in there zone and my db won’t be anywhere near his assignment and after looking at the previous play The route should have not been open. Basically some games your defence will play and others they will just give everything not much you can do but get rid of the under performing players , And also go into practice mode and look at the depth chart and see the cards real true stats and ovrs, you would be surprised that some 93‘s are actually an 89 ovr card. And explains why they don’t perform the way you think they should.
Tbh, to truly win more than you lose, you're gonna have to be able to adjust really fast on the fly. You need to be able to throw players in seam flats or quarter flats. Vert hook a safety. Change a soft squat to a cloud. My best advice would be to get good in one formation and learn how to adjust without switching to players.
I like to be off meta, but defense is so difficult this year imho that you are better off going with a meta formation. To me, you have to be able to get pressure and disguise your looks. Dollar, unfortunately, is the most likliest answer.
I play some dime, nickel and 6 1 - but I'm in dollar probably 65% of the time. I run db Fire 2, cover 4, and even zero blitz from dollar. Cover 3 and 3 at times. I base align so it all looks the same.
Lastly, your abilities must match your scheme. I run deep out zone ko on both of my outside corners, deep in on my fs. You can wing it from there. I hope this helps.
