Same. I sold my house to buy packs.

Correct.
frostybirdman said:I’ve never understood the point of these threads. MUT grinding can be very time consuming, especially since they switched to the pass XP method. And not everyone has a ton of time on their hands between families and their job, along with any other hobbies they have. Therefore I totally understand someone spending to compensate for a lack of spare time and I think it’s so dumb when “NMS” guys want to sneer at someone who spends money on packs. I say “NMS” because unless you’re gifted the game, nobody is truly NMS. I personally have spent money because I like my Cowboys TT, and every other main TT (49ers, Ravens, etc) knows that we get a ton of expensive LTD’s. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you spend or not - I’ve played god squad guys who were absolutely terrible, and I’ve played weaker teams who were very good. It’ll always be scheme over team.
Yup. Wasting your time with other people's money on your mind.
I believe the term that people on here use is "pocket watching", and it is such a waste of time. I could care less what anyone else spends on the game. The idea that encouraging others not to spend will cause EA to do something different is ludicrous. I purchased the $10 packs they had a couple of weeks ago that guaranteed coins, but that was my first purchase in MUT. I mainly play to build my team, and don't play a ton of online, usually just enough to get the non-win H2H objectives each week. I don't chase high priced LTD's, but will use rental-level LTD's to maintain team value. I firmly believe that people that spend will always have, and should always have a better team than I do. There isn't a FOMO bone in my body, which is why it isn't hard to resist EA's "addictive marketing" techniques.

First passenger pays full price for his ticket and the other got a free upgrade and saved up points and flyer miles for over a year. First passenger enjoys the flight without a care in the world while the free upgraded passenger is so proud of himself and is wondering what each other first class flyer paid in order to feel even better about himself and feel even better about his free upgrade. Who's really winning here?
Nice, i like how you think
It depends I don't really have a limit just when I see a deal I don't use it anyways might as well have fun I've prob spent 100 or 2 and it's not really worth it but I'm kinda addicted to gambling my coins and money into madden
Think ive spent about $50. Bought 3 of them ZC platinum packs and then think i bought the 4xweekly platinum bundle
0$, I'm always NMS with MUT.
Time is money. I'm NMS with a 94 overall team but that has taken me an absurd amount of auction house hustling. I started playing during the middle of season 2.
I'm not going to knock anybody who can save all that time, hundreds of hours, by spending a few hundred bucks.; especially if they can make that much in a few hours at their respective jobs.
I just enjoy working the auction house...
Started out grinding, did every challenge max stars for about 2 months and being an old man (52) and traveling with work etc... just couldn't keep up, so spent a few hundred I'd say.
Arrowhead said:NMS player here because I think buying packs from ea is ridiculous, just to be 2 weeks ahead of everyone else in talent. I know that some of those content creators have spent well over $1000; hope they get some of that back in return! Or do I? So, may the honest people step forward and please share how much REAL money you have put into this game. And what is your limit if you haven't reached it yet?
"NMS Player with 92 overall Team"
I would have said that it's not terribly difficult to profit while also remaining NMS, but nobody wants my input or advice. I'm already on my second auction house ban this season -- EA hates when folks profit from their bullshit.
I have immense respect for anyone who remains NMS, as the idea of donating even more cash to EA's low-effort, recycled, buggy ass game is absolutely absurd. However, at a certain point, the time it takes to continually work the menus / AH to actually profit becomes less and less worth it (to me). Once they removed my privileges, i had no way of acquiring cards, so I'm not above splurging a bit if/when i think i'll be investing fairly significant time into the game. For me, that was during both Thanksgiving and Christmas break. I had a 4 day weekend, then a full week+ off, so i was logging a ton of hours. And the game being very much pay to win (and there's multiple ways to pay, time is money after all -- so NMS is technically accurate and i have no problems with folks wearing that liek a badge, but EA is extracting "value" from you in other ways, namely from the time spent sifting through menus).
iJoeBruin will tell you that he's also "NMS" but his bankroll is often one of the largest in the entire game. He plays WAY more auction house / MUT menu than actual fatball. I'm still laughing over his post/tweet/whatever leading into Xmas suggesting how he was going to roll over kids in the House Rules with his top tier squad, only to find out that the rules limit us to 4 players and 88 OVR squads.
Anyhoo, i'm rambling. I hate to even look at my credit card statements, but i'm probably in the $300-400 range. My squad isn't great, no Xmas LTDs, but otherwise it's not terrible. 25 Zero Chill + 25 49ers TT. Lately i'm starting to dabble in NBA2K, as i'm more able to approach that in a casual sense and have fun. I only obsess about Air Jordan in the NBA, so i'm not forced to chase a bunch of 49ers theme team overpriced LTDs.
And i would suggest that your "streamers spending $1000" comment is a very conservative estimate. Some people struggle with the team building aspects and things can get expensive really quick, especially if we're suckered into those 12,000 Point packs, which tend to offer some of the worst "value" around.
I've probably spent around 700$, usually because I buy in bulk at random times. Would I rather have that money back? Absolutely, but whats done is done. Can always make more money. I plan on giving myself a budget of 100$ a month on MUT, and if I dont hit that, its a bonus to my wallet
I’m super embarrassed now – because I read every post here and was surprised that nobody spent over a $1000. I spent $1285. I have a 93 overall team and about 6 million in coins and all the cards that I want. I also grind, watch the streams, etc. I’m $35 over budget from last year so I won’t spend any more money. I suck at this game and I hate losing which is a dangerous combination on my credit card - lol. Every time that I lose to somebody who has a card that dominates me I end up spending more money.
