So i recently got a ps5 for Christmas and I'm finding it really hard to build up a team again, seeing as my team sucks and these new mechanics and animations make it harder. I was considering just staying on ps4 version for the rest of the year since I've already had some type of team on there but the downside is all my friends already moved to next gen. Advice???

This really puts you in a bind. My advice would be to start fresh and begin by ensuring you are using the Placement & Accuracy style passing adjustment. Ultimately, if you don't mind the grind, i think you'll find yourself getting somewhat caught up within the next ~30-45 days, perhaps less. None of these cards will ultimately matter in a month anyway. Not having access to premier abilities, such as LurkArtist on current gen PS5 consoles will significantly gimp your squad for the rest of the year. My vote would be to rip the bandaid off and start fresh, but it's gonna seem liek an uphill battle in the coming days and weeks.
Doing those AKA sets will get you a 92 OVR Aaron Donald Terminator and with Season 4 about to drop, then there's the Legends 16/16 set you can do to gain a couple elite cards. And Zero Chill pack trash could make for a decent roster, there's some usable 86 OVR players in there. I think your timing is impeccable to make the leap. Plus, you'll ultimately have more fun getting to share the experience with your buds, who are also on PS5. I finally unplugged the old PS4 Pro around October or November, i feel yer pain not being able to float between generations of the game. EA does very little to begin with, but the last-generation of consoles are getting absolutely zero love or attention. Your future self will thank you.
