EA should discount Ability cost and/or Xfactor activation requirements for older cards

For older cards  that have baked on abilities or special Xfactors EA should discount the cost or activation requirements. 

Example  

90 OVR Unstoppable Kyle Pitts   his Xfactor  Unstoppable YAC  'EM UP  requires  eight   10+ yard receptions to activate.    They could discount it to 4.

or 

Any Program QB   and give them  half priced abilities like  the Most Feared Lamar Jackson  baked Evasive discount it from 3 to 1 AP and/or Gunslinger from 2 to 1 AP.   

The benefits  if EA made these changes. 

They would be able to keep older cards more viable and usable for newer players .

Makes it easer for  players to hold on to cards they like a little longer  without providing 

The playerbase could have less meaningless OVR program players later in the year. 

Example:  the 85 and 82s CH2 players  could all be 88s and 90s which are still usable OVRs   this time of the year.

EA  would also have an easier time controlling the market and inflation via pack prices. Historically speaking the playerbase has been wiling to pay higher prices for packs with higher overalls guaranteed.    

With that it would save them the excess  time and energy that is required to create low overall pack fodder. thus allowing them to focus on more frequent promos.

Would love to see it but EA would never implement something that makes old cards better

This goes against everything MUT is about. EAs business model is all about releasing the hottest and newest cards to get people to spend money on the new packs, cards, and bundles. If they started discounting old cards they are taking money out of their own pockets and no business is doing that. if They did this it would make the new cards less valuable and the whole goal for ea is for people to upgrade their teams constantly. And you have to if you want to stay competitive. Definitely a cool idea I get where you’re coming From but it’ll never happen

Exactly. The trap is in thinking that they want things to be easier and more enjoyable for the player. They literally want the opposite. Theres a reason people believe they secretly nerf new cards after a certain amount of time has passed. They want people to always chase the newer flashier cards because thats how they make their money.

Players would still buy packs to get the newest players  as the newest players will have the  better abilities.  That said pack prices would also increase over the course of the year due to the Floor OVR going up as well.  It would achieve the same effect.  A legend pack that has a floor of 82 overall would cost 70k but a legends pack with a floor of 90 overall would cost 150k  floor of 93 OVR would cost 225k etc.   EA is still taking your coins you're just happier about it because its not an 82 

There is also  still a huge difference between a 90 overall QB with 1 ap gunslinger and a 94/95 overall QB with 1 ap gunslinger because of the  extra available abilities the 94/95 could equip.
