Best Blocking FB - Not CA Gronk

Anyone else utilize a FB? I’m still using A-Train but would love to upgrade. Haven’t found anyone comparable in blocking. Who do you all use?

What’s the most important stat - Lead Block; Impact Blocking; or Run Blocking?

Did you get Donald Penn upgraded? He gets FB chem and is great

I got Penn fully upgraded - but I’m not sure how to set up the sliders best. I put them all to blocking. Is that what you did too?

I did all speed. His weight makes such a big impact idk that better anything else is gonna make much of a difference.

Thanks man - changed Penn to all speed and plugged him in as FB and he is a beast!!!

Also using Penn with only speed upgrades

alstott is the best blocking FB.. even the 91 legend is plenty solid

You're welcome, I am usually the one getting good advice here so it feels good to see mine helped! Don't tell the rest of MUT, but if you sub him as WR1 on bubble RPOs...well he blocks for that WR2 in a serious way. Again, don't tell the rest of MUT community.

Lead Block is how well they find a target to block (IIRC)

Impact Blocking is how effective they are at blocking someone while moving

Run Blocking is how long they hold a block until the shed timer activates.

For a FB, you want Impact Blocking > Lead Block > Run Block. You also want weight/height because those factor into things as well. I use the 91 Michael Burton because he checks all the boxes, but beyond that you definitely want Mike Alstott if you're not running CA Gronk. AKA Alstott gets Vanguard AKA Upgrade for 1 AP which means you're gonnna get guaranteed pancakes on a lot of plays.

For a fullback mostly Lead Block. Those are the plays with the pulling assignment art. If they are lined up like a WR, Impact Block. If they are on the line with no pulling assignment,  weight, strength, then either run block power or run block finesse, the code picks whichever is higher to determine outcomes.
