I think EA TRIES to get people matched up in the same game (wildcard, divisional, champ, SB). Doesn't always work though.

well, you can absolutely beat those guys. I was NMS for years, this year I had some extra money tho. This year I’m the best I’ve ever been at madden with the best team, but it’s still scheme over team. A cover 4 zone scheme would probably be best for you on D but O you should be able to get by

Doubt anything else really matters, it's basically random. Because programming requires employees and employees want to be compensated for their time -- so EA isn't about to waste their resources on stuff liek hiring developers, this is a "make or break" year after all. Gotta pad that bottom line.

I really feel liek we're doing the community a massive disservice by constantly parroting back that nonsense. Madden Ultimate Team is clearly pay to win. If i bust out the credit card, i'm automatically getting more abilities and more X-factors, often which remain active the entire game. Sure, your scheme may be able to overcome that, but it's going to be a steep uphill climb that most average players aren't going to be able to overcome.
Abilities run everything in this darn game and when you can literally pay for more Light it Up X-factors, i think it's safe to say we're well into pay to win territory. Yes, of course scheme matters and labbing things in practice mode is a requirement to get the basics of the game down, even if it's ~15 minutes per day, but both apply. However, to pretend this stuff is anything but pay to win is a bit delusional, IMO.
EDIT: All that being said, elmango30 isn't technically wrong -- you shouldn't have to fear any players. There's tons of kids dropping a thousand dollars on this game that don't know how to do anything but run King Henry up the gut or perhaps a Speed Option (which will fumble in some rare instances, due to player inadequacy / lack of skill issue). 90% of players are pretty bad, especially on weekends. Including those who have seemingly unlimited spending. Focus on taking away your opponent's primary read and watch the rage-quits pile up.
I've only won a small handful of those Superbowls, i keep muffing things up. It's not easy to win four in a row. Even then the rewards are kind of shite, 39k coins for an ~hour (or half if/when folks quit) of effort doesn't feel liek great value. That doesn't even buy a single low end pack from the marketplace.
This has been a topic before, but it stands to be repeated:
EA definitely nerfs cards over time. They likely also 'cheat' you in some games just to keep the noobs playing.
I've had some recent games in H2H where I'm playing someone with the most vanilla schemes, and they are either getting wide-ass open, or catching picks off of weird overthrows. I'm not playing any different, and I can see what they're doing from a mile away, but my players just can't handle it. When that happens, sometimes I just quit out and go on to the next. Let that guy have his moment, I guess.
Of course, the game will reward you eventually if you try sticking it out... I've won a number of games being down a couple of scores, and then momentum turns.

As usual, player skill is still a factor, but it’s a different story when the team noticeably plays better/worse without any major adjustments being done
I suck and I’ll be the first to admit it. when I played squads with my friends theyre much better than me and had great players when we first played it and some games the players just wouldn’t react or wouldn’t jump and the other teams players did. I don’t know if it’s because of lag but I feel like something is fishy.

I get where you’re coming from, it’s worth noting that I would consider myself to be fairly good at madden. Ive had even matchups with people like Zan for example. he’s not belt winner material but he’s certainly far above average

Point taken. I'm decidedly average at the game. Finally clawed my way back to Legends tier in normal H2H seasons, but I'm definitely not great at the game.
My defense is getting good enough to stop most average players, but I've struggled to protect the ball on offense and it's hard to win coming back from 14 or 21-0 if I toss a couple/few bad picks. Although having full time 1AP HRM has helped way more than I ever anticipated.
I feel liek I have a decent conceptual understanding of the game, but often fail to execute.

Dang you only got 39k I got 54k when I won my first and after I won that first one it has been SB theme teams basically every game since

I received 39k for at least three of my SB victories, which i believe to be the bare minimum. The other couple/few were slightly more, i think 59k was the max i received.
