Why do scrambling QBs always fumble

Covering the ball doesn’t seem to help. Sliding isn’t always an option when the animation is super clunky and takes forever… QB designed runs can truck people but on a simple scramble drill they lower the carrying stat to -20 so annoying lol

If they didn’t the game would be 10x worse. 
 

And most QBs getting laid out by Ray Lewis or some other huge mofo is gone drop the ball. And maybe die.
