I think this is how they will nerf SB theme

There will be at least one or two more cash grabs this year (definitely wasn’t ULs…) so I think they will need to kill the SB team. Tough to do given how overpowered it is. 

I am betting that after selling two extra light it up tokens for $$$ so that everyone can have a super powered pass rush, they go after Sapp and Karlaftis. I wouldn’t be shocked if light up UF and Colossus go up (way up?) in AP. 

This would be a vintage bait and switch to get everyone to spend and then yank what people spent their money on.

Idk man dont think ea cares much at this point. Last year it was the same thing. AKA cards were op from january until end game and made UL look like a joke.Only 2-3 months of content left and the creativity of content just wasnt there this year. They most likely will have toty be the the next tt program to load up on before the easter and  draft tts. ULs are SOL unless they take to the criticism and start adding zero ap abilities next week but what a bad look for them. At this point id just let Ai take over in terms of content ideas next year. It cant get any worse after this year.....i hope.

I think the Sugar Rush Program will surpass the Super Bowl program.

It has to or that means EA is not making money.

I started playing this game during the Sugar Rush program last year, and I think they offered 96 & 97 OVR players and some incredible, overpowering Sugar Rush strategy items. My guess is that they will do this again. 

I think they are trying to kill all Legend programs. They eliminated the Legend Chemistry. And we have not seen what the tokens will get us yet. I think the token stated something stupid like a pack. If we do not get a full-blown Ultimate Legend for the tokens, it will be a crime, but I would not be surprised if they do that to us.

You can buy two tokens? What are the total light it up players you can have? I would like 3 past players and one present with Karlaftis.

I don't think they will nerf the SB team but just release new promo players with 0 AP abilities.

Yes, I agree with you.

The lack of Legends and the withholding of enough players to create a solid theme team seem to be reality in Ultimate Team.

If I wanted to play with the current NFL stars I would play franchise mode. 

Ultimate Team should be the absolute best throughout the history of the NFL. 

For them to give special chemistry for odd promotions but take it away from Legends and Ultimate Legends is a shame.

How do we even create a set for an Ultimate Legend Champion when the only sets we can create are the 87s and 93 "Diverse" OOP?

Same here I have a Steelers 50/50  at 94 overall and would love the extra tiers idk why they only made promos able 2 get 70 it's like they don't want us playing with our favorite teams

They did something similar with the energizer and xfactor on quadfather last year so I wouldn't be surprised if they do something here. They might also decrease the ap cap like they did last year so players with more/better discounts are more desirable.

Idk people invested $60 for these extra tokens, if they go changing things, gonna cause a riot and make youtubers butthurt and do their little packstrike joke.

i think they are out of the store. Mahomes helper bundle with a present token maybe is still there.

They rarely update the game after the draft sadly. I wish they did.

It is a game but it is also a massive business for EA. I don't see EA being bold enough to take away paying abilities, just does not make commercial sense to open yourself up for stress in the organization which is never good business. This is a banner year for Madden at EA and kudos for MUT product managers for growing the business this year albeit at our expense.

Let's follow the money...

EA's fiscal year ends in March. in Q3, they continue to gush over Fifa (FC2024) continued growth and the unexpected 7% YoY bump especially since last year was a world cup year where they had tons of special promotions and extra revenue (last year it was growing 30% YoY). Madden is also on the map being mentioned again at 5% YoY growth. Madden was first called out this November for their Q2 results (July-September) at growing 6% YoY so the growth of Madden slightly dipped October-December vs July-September. That said, Madden did not feature in their last year's press releases so now it is truly growing. The NFL contract is up in 2026 so I bet this is in EA's mind for 2024 to be the upswing to get to a point where next year they can worst case extend it by a year (they have revenue commitment split) if not extend for several more years again.

So what do they do in 2024? They put the pedal to the metal and juice up the promos in Q4 (Jan - March), create new content to sell and sell successfully like the light up tokens and a week of SB Present LTD packs. I would definitely expect TOTY and other promotions to be absolutely bananas. I don't think EA has to aim to replace SB TT but do expect that something will at some point but they just need to maintain the allure of coin value in future cards while also tanking current card values to everyone buys the next "mega deal" at 2800 bucks in hope of raising their coin stash. 

We are a bit of an echo chamber here, not everyone who plays MUT is on mut.gg, has the market cornered, has every LTD card from last 6 months, has 20M in coin reserves, etc. The casual / kid out there is just happy to get a shiny new card and see the 2800 special offer as their chance. They may see streams of meta cards and that is actually their goal. Majority of people here on mut.gg are setting the path, I bet the majority is still chasing.
