Does Champion mode update gameplay overnight?

I have all the best players, not gonna hide that

So Champs mode the last few weeks, I start Thurs and Fri...and normally win 8 or 9 of my first 10 games

However each Saturday...its like my team is hungover or nerfed

They all play like they're 80 overalls

I ended up going 1-5 over my next 6 games yesterday

Ill admit...a few of my opponents were good

But 1 game, i played somehow who had no idea what they were doing.  They would constantly throw into coverage and my DBs with pick artist wouldn't do anything and simply let them catch it.  When I would try to switch my user to my DB, I would press Y and they wouldnt jump or make a play on the ball...or even worse, it would swich my user to a DLineman who was nowhere near the ball 

Other losses were close but my team would just choke at the end.  One game Plax dropped a wide open pass which would have been a game winning TD.  I nearly thew my controller

Then today, I won my first 2 games easy and my team was back to playing like their true overalls

I just dont understand

It's my understanding that champs uses elo matchmaking. This means if you've won a lot of games in a row you should receive tougher opponents and easier opponents if you've lost a lot.

A few games, I did get tougher opponents, but also noticed my team played worse

My plays that normally work...no longer work

And my Defense fell apart...my CPU players were awful

To slightly modify Breakluna’s point, while Seasons uses ELO (think of it as a rolling performance measure over a long period of time for each player), Champs makes matches based on your current record for the week. 0-0 start?  Random matchup. Get out to 7-0 unbeaten?  You’re going to get VERY tough matchups. Your situation is quite like mine. I’ll usually start strong, then get steamrolled by better players, then end up kind of where I belong after a while.
