Is this the way to go? Is anyone doing this? im curious Derwin James and Kevin Byard as 2 starting CB or is anyone using peppers at CB ?

I have AKA Ceedy Deuce at CB1 and he’s been fantastic…he’s also my SS backup so I can get the Lions Chems.

Speed isn’t a real stat with equalizer he probably plays just fine

Sure currently running byard universal coverage, mid zone, pa at cb1.

I ran Peppers and Lott at CB for a long time and currently have Derwin there. If you don’t care about chems and the overall number they play great

Peppers was a menace for me at slot.

Yeah it's better, unless your a man-man player. Even still, lots of safeties have plenty good enough. But Safeties are better tacklers and have better blockshed

Not really sure about Byard because of his traits and some of his attributes but for sure Derwin makes a great CB.

I mean, with universal cvg, etc on Byard I am sure he is a good corner anyway, I personally prefer Davante and Derwin

Thanks Martyr for being so on point here. Was going to pop in and suggest the best two outside corners in the game, but he beat me to the punch, as per usual. Derwin James and Davante Adams are quite possibly THE best two outside corners in the entire game right now. The end-game goal would be to have all Zone KOs, plus Pick (or Lurk) Artist and these are really darn close. Especially if you run some X-factors.

Although, at a certain point we need to make some difficult choices. Unless/until I see more folks running Secure Protectors on their O-line, i'm almost certainly going to keep two of my X-factors on the D-line, which makes it exceptionally difficult to double-team a single Unstoppable Force. Having three D-line X-factors felt liek overkill, so I have since reverted and continue using something liek Universal Coverage (or Reinforcement / Dual Threat, equivalent, etc.) on one of my DBs.

I had used Byard as a Slot corner for a minute, but his stats honestly suck, so I've since replaced him with Jaire Genki. Doesn't appear you can do much better than Derwin James as CB1. Maybe Byard, but honestly you should use what Martyr suggests, Davante & Derwin.
