I'm only just now hearing of this, is Nano blitz detection common knowledge in the community? Seems it's been in the game for years and years, until now i never understood how or why my (or my opponents') pass rushers would often freeze or stutter-step instead of actually pursuing the QB when they had a wide open lane.
Here's a quick blurb i yoinked from an old stream, where allegedly someone named "Rex" was explaining the rationale behind this feature (~8 years ago): [source]
"Ok, state of Madden time real quick. We're concerned about nanos. What are nanos? When a guy comes in free untouched due to a glitch. Now, we could spend all our time hunting youtube videos and spending the cycle patching it, but we're not going to do that. When we spend all our time trying to patch this, we lose time to spend developing new features. The nano blitz detector is going to detect what pre-snap audibles you use, and if it determines it is a nano, it will give the defender a stutter step animation as if he was expecting to be blocked."
So, back to my original point and question -- are or were you aware of this? If so, what can you tell me about it, or what has your personal experience been, how do you typically avoid triggering this in-game? Anything that can be shared would be super relevant and important.
