End Game 99OVR Cards

Curious on people's opinions on end game cards. I know the OVR doesn't really matter, more so individual stats, abilities, and traits.

Right now I have Night Train Lane and Mel Blount boosted to 99OVR's. 

- Mel has 25 Steelers Chems, 25 Superbowl chems, and 3/3 Acrobat Combine chems. 

- Night Train has 20/20 Cover Athlete Chems and then the 3/3 Acrobat Combine chems.

If I don't change my team much from now until end of year, will these cards still be competitive? I figure being 99OVR there isn't much else that could move the needle significantly enough to upgrade.

I mean if they have 99 speed and good abilities they would be good corners till endgame, maybe not as good as a Golden ticket 99 though

Yeah NTL has 97 speed which seems to be his only flaw. I've got no way to boost that higher so it what it is.

What makes golden tickets so special?

Grind out the challenges for the free player. Sell off old players to buy the new ones. Win more superbowl promo games to stack up coins. Or buy packs with money.

It's just when they fully Max cards out like 99 spd, acceleration, man , cod, and zone with every KO in the game on a corner, like the end game of end game cards

IF you have the right TC & motivator chems from combine cards you can get any CB from 96 to 99.  My superbowl Charvarious ward is level 99 overall with light up token  (every stat is 99 except for speed which is 98 i think although it may be 99 too),  35 49ers team chem,  and the 49ers superbowl strategy chem (6/6). He is end game for me, cannot get a card with better stats.

Traits have a ton to do with how well a card performs in game too. I wont start a cornerback with Ward's traits. 

He doesn't have clutch, aggressive plays ball in air, just a high motor. That alone made me stay away from his card. Aggresive air trait is so important for a lockdown corner

Tariq Woolen is considered the best CB in the game and he has basically the same traits as ward.  I will tell you from experience that Ward has been a dog for me.  He leads my team in picks by a mile.  Right now i have him as my 3rd CB  but i use Sauce in the slot so he is usually in the 2nd CB spot on the field.   If you have the superbowl present token, 49ers TT and enough combine players to max the CB buffs he is a steal at his current price.

Woolen is also the most expensive card in the game right now. Not worth it at all for me since I run majority man coverage. He has no place in my schemes. Mel has been by far the best corner I've used with NTL slightly behind him. I felt like Sauce and PS2 TOTY were big letdowns.
